Jennie Garth to Join 90210 Spin-off

 Mathew Imaging/WireImage Jennie Garth is returning to her old 90210 zip code. Her character, the spoiled Kelly Taylor, is now a guidance counselor at her alma mater, West Beverly High, according to a statement from the network. Rumors swirled that she was returning to the series after she dropped out of a CBS pilot called My Best Friend's Girl last month. CBS and CW, who are producing the spin-off, even hint that others from the original may return — calling Garth "the first cast member to reprise her role." Garth starred on 90210 from 1990 to 2000 alongside Luke Perry, Jason Priestley and Shannon Doherty. Since departing the teen drama, Garth — one of Us' Weight Winners of the Year — has appeared on Dancing With the Stars and What I Like About You on The WB. Full House star Lori Loughlin has also signed on. She's been cast as Celia Mills, a former Olympic medalist and mother to central teens Annie and Dixon. Terrible show. The plot is awful, and the stories/scenes that take place in the series are too obvious and annoying. The only reason people watch this show is because ALL of the actors are extremely gorgeous. Also, the school that they attend to, is an awful horrible public school.

it is a t.v. show you can choose whether or not you want to watch it. Jennie Garth is beautiful and if she wants to join the recast let her. it will be some familiarity to the show. As for the others they chose not to join and that is their loss aAnd you work under those hot lights and all that action and stress and see what you look like down the road. I think she was great on Dancing with the Stars at least she was brave enough to try it.

I think it's great that Jennie is joining the new 90210 cast. Some of the other original cast members aren't joining but honestly I think it is smart to join. 90210 is what made them famous! Don't get me wrong, I love 90210 and ALL the actors but I just wish more could return with Jennie (and Shannen and Tori I believe?) Anyways I'll definitely be watching this! Season premiere Tues. Sept 2nd at 8:00pm EST I think? :) Yay! Can't wait! I'm actually counting the days so it better be good! -Sarah (Toronto, Canada)

Wrinkly and old? Jennie Garth? I think she still looks beautiful after having had 3 kids! I can't decide if i'm happy or not about the spin-off. I do hope it does well though, and I'll definitely be watching!!!

It could work if they hire the right new cast members if there is chemistry between the group and bring back the right old cast members kelly taylor is a start. I'd like to see jason preistely return too he and kelly should of gotten married on the old 90210. Although I'd like to see it become a hit show I highly doubt it will be.

I loved 90210 back in the day and still do. But i'm not too thrilled to read that Jennie has signed on to the spin-off. Reason being is because 90210 was an incredibly popular show that lasted a decade. The show could never be duplicated or imitated no matter how many original cast members they hire. Just look at how the O.C. faired in the rating after only a few years. That was supposed to be the "new" 90210 and it bombed. I honestly think that the spin-off will do poorly and i hate for anyone in the original cast to be associated with that.

Good for her! I will be happy to see her character back....I do hope though that this show/spin-off does well. Just when it seemed that Jennie was starting to do other projects and become known as someone other than "Kelly Taylor", she goes back to 90210. I think that if this show flops, she won't ever be cast in anything good again!! She will be permanently known as Kelly Taylor! And I think that she is a good actress..... Man, she must LOVE the character of Kelly. I guess though, after playing her all those years, it would be hard for Jennie to watch someone else step in. Post new comment |
