$150,000 Breach of Contract Suit Against Vanessa Hudgens to Go Forward

 BL-VWR/X17online.com Age isn't just a number for precocious High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens — and, according to a Los Angeles judge today, it's not an excuse to avoid legal woes. On Wednesday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Tricia Ann Bigelow green-lighted a breach-of-contract suit by Hudgens' former attorney, Brian Schall, who contends that the almost 19-year-old actress owes him more than $150,000 in back commissions, according to E!. Schall claims he helped her earn more than $5 million from her songwriting and recording career. But Hudgens has called Schall's work "below professional standard." She and her attorney had argued that she was just 16 when the contract with Schall was signed and cited California's Family Code, which says "the contract of a minor is voidable before [age 18] or within a reasonable time afterward." But judge Bigelow said she waited too long — until she was 18 years and nine months old — before attempting to void the contract, allowing the case to proceed to either a motion for summary judgment or a jury decision, E! reports. A hearing is set for January 15. Hudgens should have no problem footing the bill: Usmagazine.com reported exclusively she scored a "substantial" raise to star in High School Musical 3. Whether she poses nude or acts innocent has no relevance to the contract suit at hand. It doesn't specify any information about the terms of the contract, but I think the judge ruled correctly. Any minor entering a contract has the right to disaffirm the contract within a reasonable time after reaching the age of majority. In this case she failed to disaffirm the contract resulting in the ratification of the contract. When ruling what falls under a reasonable time usually precedent cases will be applied, but depending on the judge, this case might of gone the other way. Some of you people are harsh. Without knowing the terms or situation involving the contract you can't just side one way or the other. The info provided is pretty vague, but you shouldn't make legal judgments based off one's publicized life.

I get so tired of people saying "No body likes this girl" just because THEY don't. I've been to lots of sites and LOTS of people "like this girl." And no they're not all "teeny boppers." As far as the lawsuit goes, I find hard to believe this dispute is just because she doesn't feel like paying the guy, I thimk there's more to then that. Nevertheless I thing it would be in her best interest to settle this and move on.

The trash tabloid sites like this one are full of posters who take delight in humiliating people, but it never occurred to me that Vanessa would be a target for idiots. She's a beautiful sweet kid with a gracious personality and talent. How can you hate on that?
