A-Rod Admits "Times Are Difficult"

 Johnny Nunez/WireImage.com Alex Rodriguez admits "times are a bit difficult" in a new interview with The Insider. "I'll get through them," he said at the 2008 MLB All-Star Week party at Jay-Z's 40/40 club in NYC Monday. "The support of the New York fans has been incredible." Asked if he has been reading the flurry of stories about his divorce or Madonna scandal, he said, "None of it. Zero, zero. Thank you." (Look back on all of Madonna's flings.) Though the singer, 49, was rumored to attend the MLB All-Star Week bash, she was a no-show. Still, her presence was felt. The DJ played a few of her tunes, including her new single "Four Minutes." When her hit "Material Girl" blared on the speakers, A-Rod's "expression didn’t change," a witness tells Usmagazine.com. Throughout the night, A-Rod, 32, chatted up his manager Guy Oseary - who also works for Madonna - and Ingrid Casares, who introduced the singer and the slugger. A-Rod — who spent the weekend with his daughter Natasha, 3, and estranged wife Cynthia, 34, in Toronto — didn't look "devastated at all" throughout the night, says the attendee. He obligingly posed for a photo with a fan, but mostly stayed in the V.I.P. area, texting, watching ESPN's Sports Center, chomping on gum and drinking a Bud Light. As he left the club with Casares around 1:30 a.m., the DJ played Madonna's "Like a Prayer." Baseball great Reggie Jackson, who currently serves as an adviser to the Yankees, told Us that "A-Rod will be fine," despite his current relationship drama. "He's a solid guy," Jackson said. I think times for Alex Rodriguez have been difficult since he first put on the Yankees' uniform. Yeah, he hits big homers and has been an MVP during the regular season, but New York sports fans have pointed the finger at #13 for the team's postseason bellyflops in recent years. Many baseball insiders believe that Rodriguez is best suited to challenge Barry Bonds for the controversial Home Run Record he set just last season. His personal life has become quite the fishbowl since rumors of "A-Rod" & a stripper became front page headlines over a year ago during a Yankees' road trip in Toronto, and he's always spotted in blue jeans & a T-shirt on the club scene. I think "A-Rod" is telling the honest truth about Madonna, but this divorce drama with Cynthia is just beginning.

The only facts we know for sure about this story are that A Rod and his wife are in the process of divorcing. As far as I'm concerned, the rest is drivle being published for sensationalism and to hurt people. The DJ playing a bunch of Madonna songs was in poor taste, too. (If it's even true.) What a jerk.

Yeah times are difficult because you got complacent in her seeing past your cheating in the past and you thought you could continue to go off and have your trysts and she would never leave. You could come home and play house when it suited you. The gig is up and she finally left you and now you have to lie in the bed you made. So yeah, times are difficult but I dont feel sorry for you. You put your needs before your family and I bet while you were cheating you werent thinking of the future you were destroying for your daughters. Whats sad is that they didnt even have a choice about the whole thing. You were willing to sacrifice everyones sense of 'family' for a quick screw. For those who say 'she stayed with him so she deserved it,' you are wrong. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe he told her people were lying and she chose to believe her husband? Maybe this was one time too many for there to be no truth to it and she decided to finally leave. And also, nice touch for Reggie to say that 'he will get through it.' What is he trying to do?... line up more women by playing the poor me, I need sympathy role? Pathetic.
