American Idol Top 24 Announced

After hundreds of thousands of auditions in seven cities, Simon Cowell and crew have narrowed down the American Idol contestants to the Top 24.

Last night’s episode — which started with 50 contestants trimmed down from 164 who had won tickets to Hollywood — was full of tears and drama as wannabes were told they weren’t going to make it.

The biggest upset? Josiah Leming, the 18-year-old who lived in his car. After butchering his rendition of “Stand By Me,” Cowell said he was too confident for his own good.

Next Tuesday, the top 12 male singers will perform, and the women will follow on Wednesday.

Kristy Lee is awesome though hasn't been well yet, this week you watch. As far as living in Oregon. She has been there for over a year, I know personally as I have seen her riding her horses there many many times. those who are to quick to criticize be sure before you slander someone. Life is to short and it's hard enough. I also have the album and like it though it is cheaply done. sounds like management to me. I will vote all the way for her, she is to cool and friendly to everyone she meets. Go Kristy Lee Cook. I wish you the best.

I think the Irish girl has a great voice, too.

That said, I hope that she has American citizenship, because this is supposed to be AMERICAN idol.

I'm not picking on her, because I think there's a male Australian in the competition (who also has a great voice, not to mention really good-looking), but the 24 should have to have American citizenship to qualify.

Kristy Lee says she's from Oregon and sold a horse to get on the show. But, most of us from Dallas, Texas know her from Cowboys Dancehall in Arlington. She sang there for about 2 years and then moved out to San Antonio where she sang with Marty Heddin and the Country Blue. She's a great singer don't get me wrong I'm just not buying the sob story! Be REAL Kristy Lee. I also have a signed copy of your CD that never made it.

LOVE the irish girl Carly, she's cool! I think Amanda Overmeyer(aka Harley rocker chick)is interesting, but she is only one dimentional, everything she sings will sound like Janis. Happy that Josiah Leming was removed, the kid is to immature and cries to much to be in the competition. He needs to get over himself, grow up, go home and get back in school.
