I don't normally write on the blog. But after reading your ugly comments about David Cook, this got to stop! We understand that your idol didn't win and it is really hard to take but the truth of the matter is that the best and the right idol won!!! You are just venting your frustrations, it is understandble but please don't make us look like we are a bunch of stupid people that voted for DC. David Cook is the epitome of what an American Idol should be. He deserves to win that title. Not only does he have a great voice and good looks (inside and out), he is also humble, nice, sweet, very appreciative of all the good things he's got, loving brother, etc... He is also smart (college graduate) and very articulate on top of that. He arranged all the songs that he sung and made it his own. Come on, who had done that in in the past idol season? He is the most original and very bold ever! All the judges can attest to that. He really had worked so hard to deserve everything good! And he had done this with humility... having to fight the battle that his brother is going through. Even wore the orange wristband for the girl with leukemia. He did not even use this to get sympathy from people. He is all HEART! He won for his own merits! Good things always happen to good people. I don't think all 12 million votes that we did is for nothing. We just want the right American Idol to win the award. One last thing, American Idol competition is not just a one night competition but the whole show. We didn't think he did bad on the finale night. I think he did great! Simon made a mistake and apologized for it. Anyway, the proof is on ITUNES downloaded songs. All 3 of his songs are on the top 10 charts and his Time of My Life is #1. So there you go. Everything speaks for itself! David Cook is our idol!!!

i dont watch american idol but one night i watched it and completely fell in love with david archuletto! cook seemed like everyone else to me. one of the usuals where archuletto shined!

UMM..ok..why is the first sentence of this article..."IT'S AN AMERICAN IDOL UPSET!" ? WTF...seriously! I dont know anyone that is UPSET with the outcome of this show..Archuleta himself said that he had a feeling it was going to be Cook....so....yea...David Cook is the AMERICAN IDOL! And deserves that with everything he has!

If I were to have picked the American Idol prior to the finale, I probably would have swayed toward David Cook. Let's face it - both contestants are very talented in their own unique way. People have lauded David Cook for his originality. However, I think he started losing that "edge" towards the end of the competition. And David Archuleta was not too shabby on the originality spectrum himself. His rendition of "Imagine" was probably my favorite of all the contestants' take on any song sang in the competition.

Back to where I was. So prior to the finale, I would have had Cook up by just a slight margin. HOWEVER, I think Simon's comment about Archuleta delivering a "knock-out" on the final night was spot on (as he would say!) Cook just came out and did his thing, which was OK. His performances were just OK. And I am a HUGE Collective Soul fan and I was not bowled over with his performance of their song. However, Archuleta came out to win it! He really did shine the entire evening of the finale.

So trying to look at this from a neutral position, liking both contestants and being very respectful of their talents, and coming down to the wire with both contestants being basically even (in my opinion), I honestly believe that David Archuleta should have won American Idol after the superb job he did during the finals.

My hats off to both contestants and I hope nothing but blessings for each of them in their future careers.

Congrats to David Cook!!! He done an awesome job each and every week. David Archuletta could sing but he wasn't entertaining. I could be wrong, but i don't think the brother he had on stage with him is the brother with Cancer. The one on stage with him is the one who was trying out for American Idol when David C was talked into trying out himself. I don't see that as playing the "sympathy card". But regardless, he won and that makes me happy!!!

Yes, David Cook deserved to win, David Archuleta would've deserved to win as well! My question for David Cook is, how do you plan to celebrate your Idol win, and what are your plans for the future after winning season 7 of American Idol, etc.?

I personally fell in love with David Cook from the start
I was hoping he'd win and i'm so glad he did!
David Archuletta was definitly amazing and will certainly go far
Cook just has a bigger voice and a little more stage presence
But congratulations to both of them for making it so far!

I will be buying cds from both of them!

Seisha, just wasnt likable on a personal level for some reason. and so many people sing like her but, she is beautiful! she'll do stage and acting thats what she really wants anyhow...i wanted to like her but, i just couldnt for some reason. she just bugged. now fantasia...love her!

I want to know: Is David still dating Lacey Schwimmer? (And if not, who?) PLEASE ask this question.

I like both Davids alot but I really wanted David Cook
to win. Most of the time, he made the songs he sang
the way he would sing them. I actually choked up when
he did when he found out he won. He really deserved to
win. I know David Archuleta will do great also. And
Simon giving all 3 rounds to David A Tuesday night,
it made the David Cook fans even more determined to
VOTE VOTE VOTE! What a great show! And I have to say
I loved the color RED!
I wish people would get over the Taylor thing. I like
both Taylor and Chris.
Congratulations to David Cook! And my thoughts and prayers go out to him, his brother and entire family.

That was such a great show! I laughed so hard at Ben Stiller, Jack Black, and Robert Downey Jr. That was hilarious! And it was great to see Cook w/ZZ top he looked so happy. Great show, lots of fun! George Michael was fab as usual. Both those boys will do well!

DC won because there are more white people that watch the show than minorites!! He is not original. There has been a rocker on every season!!
