Tom Cruise was on the Oprah show last week bragging abour Suri talking and all that other Bull**** In just about every picture Katie or Tom are carrying that child or she has a bottle in her mouth. What bday did she just have ummmm..oh 2 years old. Yeah, Tom really a genius you have on your hands. Suri is just a normal spoil child who is still being treated like a baby. So folks the next time Tom or Katie start bragging about how bright and how well spoken Suri is someone should remind him she is just a normal baby still. They dont even treat her like a toddler, she is a baby from what I see. See Ya.

Get Suri a sippy cup, doctors say.
The 2-year-old — who was spotted sucking away on Monday in NYC — is too old for a bottle.
"Most pediatricians recommend a bottle should be given up by age 1 — almost certainly by 18 months," Dr. Charlotte Cowan, author of the Dr. Hippo book series, tells Usmagazine.com.
Suri's constant traveling could play a factor.
"When babies are challenged, their diet is upset, their sleep is upset," Cowan says. "They will regress back to previous habits ... lingering with a bottle is comforting. You could argue that her parents have decided that this is not the time to try to wean her off if they're traveling frequently."
Cowan advises Tom and Katie try to "distract [her] with something that might be more appealing, like a sippy cup."
(Parents should start their children on sippy cups between 9 and 11 months, Cowan says.)
Still, Tom and Katie shouldn't freak that Suri's still glued to her bottle.
"We panic and feel as if we have to break a child of that habit before it's really necessary to do so," psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow, who has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, tells Us.
"We don't have a wealth of experience that suggests from a psychological point of view children are harmed by using a bottle for too long," he says.
Jokes Cowan: "Parents are always worried about getting their children off of bottles. I have never seen a child go to college with a bottle!"

Suri is too old for the bottle. Take it away!
Breastfeeding is for sick perverted parents. In this day and age parents don't need to breastfeed anymore. That was only nessesary back in the day and age when we didn't have formulas etc. Anyone who still breastfeeds these days needs more help than any Mother still giving their kid a bottle at 2 years old. You sickos! Find a Husband if you want someone sucking on your teet!
ecologically, human infants *should* be breastfed up until age 3-possibly 7.granted, we have alternate forms of obtaining nutrition which allow mothers more freedom in modern times and don't make breastfeeding that long necessary, but there is nothing psychologically wrong or "disgusting" about doing so.every mother knows her child and what is best for one child even in the same family may not be best for other children. my 1st child had neurological problems and drank from a bottle until age 6. this may sound unusual, but it was determined that this was the only and/or easiest way for her to obtain nutrition.i did not bottle-feed her in public, but she did drink high calorie beverages from a bottle, and if anyone criticized that, they should try having a 35lb 6yr old.
Two is way too old to be on a bottle. Baby's teeth get ruined by thoes things. My daugther was off the bottle at 10 months old and she is doing very well using a sippy cup.
I agree with the other person who is more concerned with the fact that Suri is barefoot and coatless while Katie is dressed in turtleneck and coat. I don't know much about Scientology but plenty of babies need a bottle past 1 year. Let them be babies as long as they need to be. Get a grip and please stop blaming their religion!!!!
On a different note .. why is Katie in a turtleneck and winter looking coat, while her daugher is in a little short sleeve tee and bare feet?
This is more on an issue for me.
Let the kid have her bottle. I drank out of mine until I was 3 who cares. leave the kid alone. She will grow up under a microscope but damn bothering the kid already.
To those of you that think breastfeeding a toddler is disgusting- you need to get a realty check. The average weaning age is actually between 18 months and 4 years give or take- breastfeeding is completely natural and there is NOTHING sexual about it. It is healthier physically and emotionally to let a child self wean. Bottles and formula/cows milk are not natural but have become the norm. humans are meant to consume their mothers milk until they self wean and then we no longer need any kind of milk. We are the only species on the planet to consume another animals milk. How is drinking cows milk (often laced with hormones and antibiotics) normal and yet breastfeeding is "gross". And FYI, most toddlers are only nursing around 1-2 times a day usually when they wake up in the AM and go to sleep. People really need to get in touch with the fact that we are MAMMALS and biologically speaking breast milk is the standard.
I have a friend that had to have all her grandchildren's teeth pulled at the age of five, somewhere around there...because she was sucking the bottle too late in life. She would fall asleep with the nipple in her mouth and it damaged her teeth so badly. The dentist said they had to be pulled before the second teeth came in or they too would be decayed.
I think the mothers that lets the little ones so long on bottles are just PURE LAZY. It is a baby sitter for them. What a shame!
The bottle thing is so fine..My 5 children had a mixture of Shaklee proteins and some of the powdered vitamins and especially EPA fish oil for those not familiar with EPA and now they are trying to put it in baby formula for brain health..wonder what their source of fish is..yikes..and this was 20 years ago when I did it..Guess What, never once a doctor Bill. They were never sick and they drank a similar mixture till they were 18. They switched to a cup when they were 7. Sippy cups were nonexistant. What really bothers me the kids on sippy cups that have soda pop in them. What's up with that. Or should we take the little tikes to McDonalds and give them an egg mcmuffin, ick, and some paturized, homogenized hormone atibiotic laden milk. My friend does this to her 2 year old and even though she vomits it up she continues to do it. Diets in America are so depleted and sick..You go Katie with the health thing religion or not. So do we listen to our nutrition leaders or do we listen to Monsanto and dow chemical..hmmm Or do we gather info and make our own choice!
Personally, I see nothing wrong for the Cruise baby to still drink from a bottle at age two. In my opinion, I think is nurturing. I had three babies. They were all breastfed until the age of two and drank from bottle until the age of 6. I was raised the same way.
I guess is a cultural thing, in my case. I don't see any child abuse here. My oldest son drank from a bottle until the age of 6 (he liked the bottle). Now my son is 26 years old, a professional, successfull young man. At the age of 21 he had already purchased his first $350,000 house, and a $50,000 BMW. He is very stable, with no emotional;/mental problems or issues.
My second child is pursuing an education, she is very sucessfull at work, and has a beautiful two year-opld baby, which I also like to feed from a bottle.
My third child, a son, also breadfeed until the age of two, and drank from a bottle until the age of 5. They all decided to quit drinking from a bottle when they thought they were ready and wanted to. It was their decision to stop.
Feeding from at the age of two should not be such an issue. This is not child abuse. None of my children got rotten teeth, nor have had a single cavity even today. They were healthy babies and are healthy adults, nor developed any type of social conflicts, issues or problems.
What worries me is the fact that the Cruise baby consumes high quantity of honey--according to the article; and even a small quantity is considered unhealthy-- according to some medical reports I have read from different sources. But it is non of our business to judge how the Cruises raise their baby as long as there is no real child abuse involved.

my sister has brown eyes ( her hubby has brown eyes also both his parents have brown eyes) our mother has brown eyes but our dad had blue eyes and my sisters boy has blue eyes
try doing REAL research at the World Health Organization's website...
If you think nursing is sick, you have issues. I'm so glad to see, though, that the formula and dairy industries have done such a great job in brainwashing stupid Americans.
If you think nursing is a "sick pleasure," try actually doing it sometime. There is nothing remotely pleasurable (adult-wise).
based on WHAT??? God, the intelligent level makes it not worth returning here...my 6 year old, who nursed until 3, is VERY independent...
Mainstream parenting advice is to give a child what she/he needs when they're little (security-wise); although it SEEMS counterproductive, comforting a child will result in a SECURE adult whereas denying reassurance and comfort to "create" a stronger/tougher CHILD (again, they are KIDS!), will create needy, emotionally insecure adults who will always be seeking reassurance...
I truly feel for your poor kids...they will be so rebellious, nasty, and empty in their souls...seeking all types of comfort and reassurance in their sad lives....
That's what the big issue with people today - the whole "get tough, little kid" parenting idea produced all these hateful people...think about it...
Eye color is not determined by one gene from each parent. It is determined by a number of genes from each parent, which is why there are so many different colors of blue, brown, green, etc. Jesus, people. And Boo- brown is dominant. That even makes evolutionary sense.
if your baby can say ANY words it should not be nursing anymore. I think it's disgusting to see a baby say "mama" with their hands up wanting to suck on mommies breast. It's completely gross.
Bottles and beast feeding create dependency. If you'd all like your kids to live with you till they are 31 yrs old keep up your bad habits. But I strongly believe in this world you need to make your kids strong and and independent.
This is a completely gross board. No one should be breast feeding after months.
You're kids are probably all needing, get whatever they want and cry all the time.
Who the hell cares?!
My daughter will be 3 in July, but was a preemie born 3 months early....she sits at the table in a regualr chair and drinks from an open cup during the day but desires a bottle of milk at night and for us to hold her....it's for comfort and bonding....I've tried to get her to just drink a cup of milk, but she insists on having it in the bottle and wants us to hold it....so it's not like she's so attached and drags it around...she doesn't go to sleep with it and glad becasue the milk will rot her teeth or drinking it laying down could cause ear infections. She also likes her pacifier at nap time, bedtime and when she is out of sorts. My daughter is almost potty trained and takes swimming lessons where she can float and swim underwater so she is growing up but every child is different....and has different needs....they like routine and you can't break them from every comfort zone at once. Why is Katie dressed for the winter and Suri in a sundress? Where are her shoes???Katie is carryig hers also....who cares....looks like Katie adores Suri as much as I adore my Meagan and she is cleaned and cared for with love. At least she is with her mommy instead of the Nanny.
My long-term nursed kids have NEVER been in daycare, even for ONE day...lucky kids have loving parents....need is one thing, but there are many parents who just "want a break" with daycare..sick to me..
your kids will be so much better off than these other kids who belong to those on this board...
And there is NO "sick" pleasure from nursing an older child...there IS pleasure to see a child content, happy, and secure nursing at naptime and bedtime...smiling all the way to sleep with the same comfort that he/she has know since day one (a hard thing to provide to a poor little child whose world is so uncertain, full of ever-changing things and TONS of new experiences and thing to learn every day...I am SO glad to provide that, along with many other, comforts! Only in the USA are people so twisted and sick as to pervert such a thing...Heaven help YOUR kids...cold parenting sucks...
FYI Boo:
Suri is more likely to get cavities if her parents put her to bed with a bottle filled with milk or juice. We don't have any evidence that this is the case.
While we are on the topic of genes, brown is, was, and always will be the dominant eye color. Google it. Blue is recessive.
Get your facts straight before you post such a ridiculous comment.
Oh, and leave Suri alone. She is two. Go bother Britney, Lindsay, Jessica, Jennifer, and anybody else over the age of 18 you can think of.
I'm really upset by this story. You're picking on a 2 year old!!! If her parents feel that she can still have a bottle then she should still have a bottle! All that matters is that she is loved and properly cared for. Leave these kids alone!
Looking at the world today and the hell we face with children growing up to fast and becoming parents too young "lynn/brittany". As long as we are teaching them as early as possible that good responsible people is what they should inspire to be. It really dosent matter how long they are on a bottle. Just dont make it too long like some people.
Katie is Suri's mother. She knows her child better than anyone and it is her right to do as she sees fit. Leave her alone! I bet the majority of those out their criticizing her for letting Suri have a bottle are the ones who have serious issues today because their parents took their bottles too soon! A child will let you know when he or she is ready. When I was a child, children had bottles until they were 3. We all turned out just fine. Drs today say begin to wean from bottles at nine months. I would love to see them try to do the same thing with their own child if he or she wasn't ready. I have news for you, they don't! I know this for a fact! I can't even imagine what it would be like having the entire world scrutinize everything you do with your child. Bless your heart, Katie! I don't envy you at all. But, I am pretty sure Suri still drinking from a bottle is not going to "ruin her life." Come on, people-she's a baby, it's a bottle!
So what she has a bottle??? She is only 2, and for Suri to still have her bottle is her parents choice. Everyone needs to keep their parenting advise to themselves.
My daughter is 16 months and I still breastfeed her, so does my friend with her son, 17 months old. How is breastfeeding worse than a bottle?? My daughter is blessed with an excellent health and is less clingy and needy than the bottle fed kids from my friends and family. I am planning on feeding her until she weans herself (which she already started doing all by herself) or until she is 3 at the most. That's how long it is recommended, well everywhere BUT the States. But then again, you people over here put your children in day care at 3 weeks, so what shall we expect.
On the medical aspect: Drinking from a bottle once the child has teeth causes cavities, like it or not. Not to mention the "pretty" little braces the girl is going to need when her teeth are all crooked.
And on the eye colour: Don't they teach you about chromosomes and genes in the States?? (We learned that in 8th grade. But than again, most of you don't even know where certain countries are, whereby we had to learn the capitol of every country in the whole world plus their economy and social role in the World).
Blue is always dominant, but less likely in appearance, meaning, there are fewer people with blue eyes than say, brown. Green is really rare, so is gray. Eye colour is pure coincidence but it mostly depends on the grand parents which colour the baby's will have.
Ok, so she has a bottle - not so good for the teeth, but Katie is a first time Mom. One question I have is do the Cruises not believe in strollers? Katie carries this child everywhere! Her back must kill her at the end of the day!I've seen other celebs walking with their kids in strollers. Any thoughts?
I think that she is just being lazy. They should of taken the bottle away when she was 1. She just rather give her the bottle than to give her a cup.
