Tears were flowing on last night’s American Idol as four contestants were sent home.
And Simon Cowell didn’t mince words when saying goodbye!
After 18-year-old Colton Berry, who sung “Suspicious Minds,” was dismissed, Cowell advised him to, “Get a good job and then enjoy singing, because I don’t think you’ll make a successful career out of it!”
He wasn’t much nicer to plus-size model Joanne Borgella, 25, who belted out “Say a Little Prayer for Me” on Wednesday’s show.
"It was a horrible song choice, and it wasn't a great performance," Cowell sneered.
Garrett Haley, 17, was also cut from the show. After his performance of “Breaking Up is Hard To Do” Tuesday, Cowell said he looked like he had been locked in his bedroom for a month and needed some fresh air.
Also gone: Amy Davis, a trade-show model, 25, who sang a sleepy version of Patsy Cline’s “Where The Boys Are.”
Paula Abdul debuted her new music video — and wasn’t spared from Cowell, who joked she was like “every color in the rainbow” in reference to a comment she’d made to another contestant.
