Hillary Clinton: I'm Going to "Rally the Party Behind Senator Obama"

![]() GV Cruz/WireImage.com Days after Barack Obama clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton has announced she'll endorse her one-time political foe. "I will be speaking on Saturday about how together we can rally the party behind Senator Obama," Clinton said in an email to her supporters on Thursday. "The stakes are too high and the tasks before us are too important to do otherwise," she added. Clinton, who won nearly 18 million votes in the primaries, did not earn enough delegates to secure her party's nomination after Tuesday's last round of contests. (See Hillary Clinton's worst outfits ever.) In her speech in Washington D.C. on Saturday, Clinton will "extend [her] congratulations to Senator Obama and [her] support for his candidacy," she said. "I have said throughout the campaign that I would strongly support Senator Obama if he were the Democratic Party's nominee, and I intend to deliver on that promise," Clinton added.
