Is The Hills Fake? Yes, and no. I myself just filmed a pilot for a reality show that they were trying to pitch (ala The Hills, Laguna Beach) , the scenes are staged, the conversation is real. thats about it. From my experinence all reality TV is bullsh*t. The producers stir the drama. We werent allowed to talk about the scene that day off camera. (well we werent supossed to) They just want to catch you talking bad about someone else or trash talking. Its all spliced together to make one good drama filled show.

Look I am Low 30 something what you would call Black and female. I love the show! I grew up in a predominantly Black neighborhood say thru white flight Great majority white private highschool. I love the show! I do not get to see it often and do not care if you think I do not have a life. But um I love Lauren's TV persona whether its reality or not. Its entertainment. Turn it off if you do not like it! What I see thru the show is friends and a community supporting youth and folk creating opportunities! White skin is not a culture or nationality - Its a color! If folk with black skin is not in their group then it is what it is! So do not make it what it isn't and a person's preference should not make them a racist! Lauren Rocks! Give a little more energy to creating your own oppotunities and a little less over things you have no control over

Where the hell is the racisit comments coming from? Last time I checked there are shows about other races on M-TV, like Run's House. As for the show not having a different race on the show, why would they? That show is as white as white can get, it is what it is. Last time I checked, Laguana Beach didn't have anything but white people on there. There have been episodes where there were other races. In one episode theu had Sean Kinston on it. Usher opened for the show also. Again, it is what it is. How fake would it be if all of a sudden there was a black person on the show just to satisify viewers. Then that person would be the "token black chick or guy". Look, these girls were friends from the get go and it is pretty white were they live. This is just stupid that all of a sudden Lauren or anyone else on the show are now labeled racisit simply because they don't date white men or because one of them happened to date someone who has issues with other races. As you can clearly see, Lauren doesn't date that idiot anymore. Stop creating racisim with these stupid remarks. I am pretty sure that this show is watched primarly by white female youths, just like the show I LOVE New York is watched primarly by african americans. Don't make an issue where there doesn't need to be on.....

Who seriously cares if she doesnt date someone thats not white? Its a personal choice, and some people were brought up that way. I have many many friends who are not white, but, that does not not mean I will date someone who is not white...leave the girl alone and let her date who she wants!!!!!

if some people are fake on the show then she knows what she is talking about on one episode when she had a date with a model first at brody's house for a barbecue then they went to a restaurant ,and when she went home she called brody on the day she went to the restaurant she had nail varnish on then when she arrived home a was talking with brody she didnt have the nail varnish anymore..so lc stop always critising people(heidi...)and start looking at your own flaws(maybe you think you dont have any..oups..)at least heidi says waht she thinks..

So all the non-white people around her are just not interesting enough to be friends with? When she goes to a club there is no non-white men that are attractive enough to date? She's been on the party circuit for quite sometime and has ample opportunity to meet non-white people. I would say if she hasn't made a non white friend or dated a non white man before now, it's because she's deliberately not interested.

You don't see Franky all that much. He's more of Brody's friend maybe? He has what? 1% air time? He's the only guy on there LC hasn't tried to date. Maybe he's the token.

I disagree with the comment that it would be better with a non-white cast member. That would be fine if a non-white person really was in their group, but it would be ridiculous just to bring one in to be politically correct. Get over it.

Just like FRIENDS the HILLS would be more interesting if they had at least one non-white cast member. As a Latina I would really like to see more than just white people on popular shows.
