Someone get Idol's David Archuleta a teleprompter – stat!
The 17-year-old stumbled over a few words of his second song, Chris Brown's "With You," on Tuesday night's American Idol.

Archuleta received mixed reviews from the judges after his performance.
"I'm not sure that was the right song, seeing you singing 'my boo,'" Randy Jackson said. "I didn't believe it."
Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe also confirmed the Archuelta dad ban.
"He has been asked not to participate in the choice of music with David or be in the room when David is working out his routines that he wants to sing," Lythgoe told Entertainment Weekly.
"He's fine to be in the studio, nothing wrong with that," he added. "We just want David to be able to be free like everybody else to get on and do what they want to do."

Archuleta competed against David Cook and Syesha Mercado. One of the three remaining Idol contestants will be voted off Wednesday night.

I can't see where he messed up on any lyrics no matter how many times I watch this video.
Yes I am a huge Archie fan but I would admit if I noticed he missed the lyrics on a song like too We can Work it Out.
But sorry, I just can't hear that.
I hear every word he said.
I'm tired of these mags posting stuff thats not true.

there's nothing creepy about david archuleta, there's something "special" about him.
that's why he's my idol..
he's very deserving..
i just hope he'll be more of himself since his dad is kinda banned..
and i'm sure, people will love him even better.

I think David A is wonderful and people need to back off him a little. I don't think I have ever heard such venom on a performer before. He is obviously very talented and millions of people vote for him. Why does he have to be a bad performer in order for David C. to be a good one? They have different styles. From what I have seen, David C. does the same type of music every week as well as David A. What is the problem with that? When they record their albums, they will record songs they want to sing in their style.

Where did he stumble over the words? I don't think he did. As a matter of fact, I don't know how any of them do it - learning three news songs in a matter of 2 or 3 days with little rehearsal time. There was mention that Archuleta was quite discouraged lately with the little rehearsal time. Can't blame him. I applaud them for doing as well as they do.

I think David A. is too young to be able to have a successful career. I know there are a lot of young pop singers, but he seems very unsure of himself and I think he will freak under the pressure. His dad will always be there and essentially ruin any kind of career he may have. I really think he should go home tonight. Syesha is great, but David C. needs to win. He is absolutely amazing. I actually get goose bumps when he sings!

if you notice david always screws up on fast tempo songs. he is just not comfortable with them. he does great on the ballads but, yikes on the fast stuff. ayesha...she's so broadway. i can totally see her there ....david cook, so good! he should win.

David Cook has shown from the beginning that he has what it takes to become a very famous musician. He reminds me of Chris Daughtry! If he wins (which he should) I would be willing to bet that he will become very very rich and famous!

I think Archuleta's time is up. How many times has he flubbed lines? We dont even know what kind of artist he wants to be yet! His song choices are horrid and he can't answer simple questions or remember directions. He doesnt deserve to be there. SYESHA AND DAVID COOK FOR THE WIN. At least THEY have talent and they seem ready for stardom.

The only performance I enjoyed of David A was when he sang Imagine. After that, all of his performances are EXACTLY the same. Ballads, depressing or "inspirational". It's annoying! Every Idol who has made it big got famous on a uptempo or rockish song...HELLO David can't sing those types. (ZZZZ) David Cook is awesome and Syesha has really stepped up her game these past few weeks. They're both performers! GO DAVID COOK AND SYESHA!!!!

If it is Seyesha and one of the David's in the final that will make for the most predictable final in Idol history. Boring! If Seyesha makes it through tonight we will know who the winner is. It should be the two davids! They both deserve it!

David A. will not have a long lasting career I don't think. He does not have the personality that I think you need for a lasting entertainment career. Plus his dad being so supposedly involved, how would he have done in AI if he was not being directed by his dad, etc? Would he really have made it this far. I think David C will have a very long career. I think Syesha is better than what people give her credit for.

There are a lot of immature people on this board. David A. is just a kid remember. I think he has done a wonderful job having five to ten less years experience then everyone else. He is a kid, lay off him. Most people are a little akward at his age. Grow up and stop being jerks...there are mature ways of saying that you don't think he should win American Idol.

You all are crazy. Seyesha has a good voice, but she is definitely more suited for Broadway or some kind of theater. She doesn't even want to be singer, she wants to be an actress. Let someone win who wants to sing win the show! David A. and David C. should be the two in the finals as I have thought all season. They both are in a different league then everyone else. David A. has a voice unmatched by anyone in Idol history but he doesn't have the stage presence. David C. doesn't have as strong of a voice as David A. but he preforms like he has been doing it for years all ready. The final will be very interesting if it is the two David's. Seyesha should have been out a while ago. It's her time to go. Goodbye Seyesha...

If anyone else had messed up their lyrics, the judges would have been ALL over them. But because it's David Archuleta, he gets a pass. Every freakin time he does it, they don't even say anything about it. Obviously they want him to win.

I was so upset that none of the judges commented on him messing up the lyrics, at this point in the competition each contestant should know the lyrics to the songs they sing. I am sad to say that I think David A will make it to the final two but I hope David Cook takes the title of this years American Idol.

David A is not nearly as talented as David Cook he sings well but not near American Idol good. Everytime David A sings I hear his deep breathing in and it is annoying. I think it is time for David A to go home and be with his dad.

I don't understand the David Archuleta hype. I mean the kid is talented yes, he has a GREAT voice. But an American Idol has to be a performer. This kid is not a performer, its inexperience and age that makes him not ready for this. He just doesn't have it yet, he will, but not yet.
And I've never been a Syesha fan, but I disagree with the judges, she was awesome last night. I think her song's were smart choices. I liked FEVER. Very good - very different for her, and she danced and showed personality and sex appeal.
David Cook - Definitely should be the winner!! Total package. His voice sounded a bit scratchy last night, probably because they are all working their vocal cords so hard. But he has it all and should be the next American Idol!! I voted a ton for him last night.
To bad we can't vote for who we want out of the competition - because sorry Archueleta, you'd be gone!
