If you are going to come down on "noneofyourbusiness" for their combination of upper and lower case and slang, maybe you could remember to tack that "e" at the end of the word "usE". I guess it's true- it takes one to know one! And it wasn't ok to criticize laura for telling us a little something about herself, either. It sounds to me like "wakeup" is just a very bitter individual with nothing better to do than try and belittle others who never said anything to you or met you. Go back to taking care of your kid that you were sure to point out you gave birth to at 21. Hmmmm...

As for Jamie Lynn, it's her business and her family's business what she does with the surprise baby and her fiance. She didn't tell YOU that she is having a baby, so I'm sure she doesn't give a flying you know what about what you or I think.

So she isn't the 1st teen to get pregnant. But she WAS a role model to young girls. I think that it's PATHETIC that we are making it seem okay for teens to have babies! Where is the parenting? Oh yeah it's the Spears'. NONE OF THEM SHOULD HAVE CHILDREN. I'm sure she is a sweet girl, but that doesn't condone the fact that she should have been responsible in the 1st place. But she has $$ just like Britney so someone else I'm sure will end raising the baby anyhow.
This world is getting sadder by the day on how we let out young girls as young as 11 I've seen dress like the are prostitutes with the tight low shirts and the tighter low rise jeans. And people wonder why there are so many teen pregnancies!

For those of you who are still living in your time, THINGS ARE DIFFERENT!!!! IT IS 2008!!! Every year things change as a matter of fact things change everyday!!! So wat she has had a child, who are you to judge her and say dat she is too young!!! Only GOD has dat right!!!Well im proud of her and i thank GOD that she didnt abort!!! Mmmmkay Bottom line.... if you have sex....you can get pregnant. Whether you have a close relationship with your parents, needless to say, doesn't really have anything to do with getting pregnant or not. If you are sexually active, you take that chance....Yeah you can talk with your parents, yeah they can tell you to abstain, but in the end...it's that persons choice....unless your child believes in abstinence and is a strong believer I may add...then there is a damn good chance they will end up having sex before they are married...and in today's world most likely before they are out of high school.

As for young mothers automatically being horrible parents...because apparently they can't take care of themselves...as someone stated (donna). That is absolutely ridiculous. Did anyone ever stop to think, that maybe...just maybe young mothers are just as capable of being a good mother as a 36 year old mother? I am sorry but if you are willing to take that responsibility and can fulfill it...then what the hell is the big deal? I am positive that there are 18 year old mothers raising their child/ren far more sincere and loving more responsible, and are better role models than those women in there thirty's who happen to be uneducated, alcoholic, or drug users...or just plain don't give a sh*t.

I am 21 years old, I had my daughter (6 months) when I was 20. I stayed in school I am still in school haven't had a break since I found out I was pregnant..as in all year round (including summer school and winterm..) and I don't plan on quitting till I am finished. I will be Teaching 5th grade/ I minor in Music so I plan on fixin that in with the mix of things,in less than 2 years. I am and will keep on providing for my more than happy, beautiful child. No I am not married.... Yes I am still with the father..have been with him for three years...and I don't think having a child is a reason to go and get married. Sh*t has changed since the 1900's people...single mothers can and are good role models we are also capable of doing things solo...yeah it may be hard, but we are stronger than ever.

My parents....of course they were against it....at first. Now they think Rhiannon is the greatest little grand daughter...they can't get enough of her....so for all of you parents that would "murder" your kids...get real. IF you would honestly throw your kids to the curb because they get pregnant or get into serious trouble...maybe you should take a dose of your own medicine. Your kid is you...your family...your life...you should love them no matter what...you should be there for them when they need you the most....get over the fact that you may be known as the parent of a 17 year old pregnant teen....let them know that things may get tough...but as long as you have family and a support group to help you through those times, then you can accomplish anything!

I know from experience and I am grateful for it.

All this talk of religion is hilarious. Time to reside in the real world, America, and wake up to the fact that not teaching younger people about sex is only making the teen pregnancy rate skyrocket and the cases of abused and unwanted children skyrocket with it. These abstinence-only messages simply do not deal in reality. Casey Aldridge doesn't look like he's carrying a full load and he and Jamie Spears are both too young to provide any kind of life for a child. At 17 years old, Jamie is a child herself, so what possible life can she provide for another human being? Instead of talking about practical things such as sex education and birth control, people talk about pushing their morality down everyone else's throats. If you don't want your kid to wind up like Jamie Lynn, then parents do yourselves the favor and start being a parent to your kid and not be afraid to talk about sex. 16 and 17 year-olds will have sex, whether people like that or not, so better they get accurate information from you than inaccurate info somewhere else, or, worse yet, wind up like Jamie Lynn Spears - used up at 17 years old.

How come there wasn't this mush outrage when beyonce's sister got pregnant or when the girl from whale rider Keisha Castle-Hughes, who was nominated for an oscar got pregnant her boyfriend was two yrs older too?. Truth is it happens to families across the board in this country, telling a kid to not have sex is just making them want to do it.
I'm 18 and i've seen girls in my high school get pregnant, ones that i would have never thought. For people who say its the media's fault that's completly wrong, because if it was them every girl would be pregnant and sexually active.It depends on the parents of these girls, i have a close relationship with my mom and we talk about everything. Nowadays parents are to afraid of talking about sex, but can easily talk about drugs and wanting to be your childs best friends, its fine but there has to be boundaries. In the end a parent can talk to their child about sex and be the best parent in the world, but everyone has their own mind and makes their own choices. If the girl makes that choice there isn't much a parent can do. Most girls know the consequences of having a child before they are done with high school, but they think it wont happen to them, so they take the risk.Again it depends on the parents and the eduaction they have.

Living through a couple of minutes of awkwardnes, can prevent a unwanted pregnancy.

shes not the first pregnant teen, and she wont be the last.
but as someone in the public eye whos found herself in that situation, she can now be a positive role model for those who are in the same situation.
and can also be a role model for any other teen as a display of what not to do.
in other words, use protection.

and saying shes too young wont do anything.

well 2 of my friends are the same age as jamie and casey, and have been together for 2 and a half years and are yet to sleep together.

financially shes in a better place to raise a baby and give her child everything she needs than the majority of people worldwide.

While I agree that it is normal to have role models other than your parents. It is still up to the parent. Thats one problem now days with some parent they leave their job of raising their children up to their role models, most of which happen to be kids themselves.
