It just kind of makes me sick seeing all of the comments blasting people for not getting married just because they are pregnant/have a child.

My husband (yes, husband) and I had a baby together almost 3 years ago. It wasn't something planned and at that point we weren't sure if we wanted to be married. But we owned up to the responsibility of having and raising the child together and didn't worry about the marriage part, just about taking care of our child.

We got married last year. So for anyone who didn't know us prior to that, you'd just think we were any old married couple with a child. Frankly, you would have thought that before we walked down the aisle. We were a happy, functioning family unit. And still are. My husband and I getting married didn't have any effect on how we work together as a family.

I know that people are "supposed to" get married before having a child but if the unexpected happens, is it better to worry about rushing to get married or to focus on the well-being of the child?? In our case we chose to focus on our child and see how our relationship unfolded. Everything worked out, but if it hadn't, I wouldn't have wanted to go through a divorce saying "if I just would have waited".

From someone who has walked in their shoes, and the shoes of every couple (celebrity or NOT) who had a child without being married, all I can say is leave it alone! They'll find their way without being harrassed about their marital status all the time.

Also, congrats to Sara Evans & her new husband, Jay Barker, on getting married Saturday evening in an outdoor ceremony at a Franklin, Tenn, farm near Evan's home! It's very sweet that Evan's son, Avery, 8, walked his mother down the aisle, perceded by her two daughters, Olivia, 5, and Audrey, 3. Also, it's very kind that Barker's children from his first marriage, sat on quilts during the ceremony and were the only attendants, and that they gave their parents away, and the music they had sounded very nice, too! Congrats, you too, and I wish you the best for a happily married life! Sara Evans is 37 and Jay Barker is 35, for anybody who's curious about their ages? Also, it's great to hear that Mary Lynn Rajskub had a great time at her baby shower, despite the 90-degree weather, and that she's keeping her baby's sex a surprise, etc.
