Saying that people who dislike J. Simpson are "jealous" is highly immature and it's truly an incredible cop-out. I am a novelist (though I wont say my name here), I have a beautiful, amazing life and I've been all around the world and wouldn't change a thing. I dislike Simpson for probably the same reason that most people do: she is mediocre, she is lacks talent, and when I turn on the radio or go to a movie, I want to see the real-deal.
As a writer, when I produce a book I know damn well that it better be quality, and I have enough respect for myself and the audience to know the difference between crap and quality. If only the Simpsons were not so egomanaical they would have the same ability to tell the difference in themselves. If they--and those around them--had the gift of honest self assessment, they'd realize that the Simpsons are not in their element and should find their true God-given callings in life. Instead, they've chosen a mediocre existence. Since they have chosen this, they will pay their debts because the viewing public will reject them.
Really, Joe is the culprit here because though he knew his daughters were only mediocre, he also knew that if they put on makeup and did their hair up, he could probably make a lot of money off of them. He's made his cash and so he is happy. But what he was to live with is that he set his daughters up for a life of let-downs--at least career-wise.
