Nicole Kidman is on the hunt for a new home, Us Weekly reports in its newest issue on stands now.

No. 1 on Kidman’s real estate checklist: proximity to her BFF, fellow Aussie Naomi Watts, 39.

On March 15, the pregnant actress, 40, did some househunting after spending quality time with her kids with ex Tom Cruise — son Connor, 13, and daughter Isabella, 15 — at Watts’ L.A. pad.

(Kidman’s hubby, Keith Urban, was on tour.)

“Nicole had her people call Naomi’s next-door neighbors to ask if they would be interested in selling their house — even though it wasn’t on the market,” a source says of the bicoastal star, who often stays at Watts’ house.

The neighbors turned down the offer, but Kidman, who next costars with Hugh Jackman in Australia, out later this year, hasn’t lost hope and has continued looking at properties in the $8 million range (two other requirements on her checklist: good views and long driveways).

Adds the source, “Her favorite property so far is a Nantucket-style home. Although the home is not on Naomi’s block, it is within walking distance.”
