Mariah Carey showed off her sexy new body on Tuesday's American Idol.
The 38-year-old singer — who reveals in Us Weekly's latest issue how she shed 20 pounds — rocked a low-cut black shirt and skin-tight pants as she mentored the seven remaining contestants (see clip of her working with Kristy Lee Cook above).
Randy Jackson recently told Usmagazine.com that Carey brought "a wealth of knowledge about singing to these kids.
"She's won the Holy Grail," he added. "She sold 175 million albums! I don't know if anyone will ever get to that point ever again because the music business is in such disarray."
Carey returns to the show tonight to perform her latest single, "Bye Bye," as another contestant is sent home.

just accept it, mariah has been a great mentor to the AI contestants. one of the best, i believe. haters never go away..it's ok, as long as the majority of the people buy her albums and singles. still, "i wish you well" --- this is for all the mc haters.

LOL shows how much that person knows shes acctually been dating Mark sudack who is on her management team she just doesnt let all her business known out there like britney or angelina jolie. GO AHEAD MARIAH the album is amazing

Mariah has thus far been Idol's best mentor (imo). She had good pointers and praise for all the contestants but what stood out the most was that behind it was sincerity. I was most impressed with Syesha, Jason Castro and Kristy Lee Cook- who shocked me with her rendition of 'Forever'.
