Matt absolutely made the right choice. Shayne is beautiful and was very genuine around him (even his parents recognized that). I enjoyed watching them, they were loving and fun together. Beautiful proposal! The best "Bachelor" season ever!!

It's love again on the The Bachelor!
Last night's finale ended with 27-year-old Brit Matt Grant offering a rose — and 2.85-carat Tacori platinum and diamond eternity ring — to 22-year-old aspiring actress Shayne Lamas after six weeks of TV courtship.

Getting down on one knee, Grant asked his bride-to-be: "Monkey, will you marry me?"
Lamas (the daughter of actor Lorenzo) said yes, "on one condition — that you will never look at another woman for the rest of our lives…because you have looked at way too many during our relationship."
Rejected on the show?
Chelsea Wanstrath, a 25-year-old pharmaceutical sales representative. She called Lamas "the falsest person here [in the competition]" after learning she was going home alone.

I watched the all of the airings of Matt as he spent time with the girls, to find his true love. I don't know how he came to keep Chelsea until the end...she really wasn't a match for him at all I feel, and then on the final episode she had the gall to put Shayne down. That was awful! Watching Shayne each time with Matt, it was so obvious to me that she was herself, and I could see her falling in love with Matt. I wish them all of the best...Matt and Shayne found each other. I hope their relationship follows the path of Ryan and Trista, another wonderful couple. Falling in love on the show was magical, but relationships, no matter how much people say they love each, take work, patience, understanding, humor, and commitment, and time to come to a deeper understanding of each other. God Bless them both on this wonderful journey, and may love be their guide!
The earrings she has on in when he proposes, I think they are from ABS by Allen Schwartz??? Does anyone know? They are absolutely stunning and beautiful and i want to get a pair.
Dear browneyez,
How dare you comment on someone's weight! It is none of your business and has nothing to do with two people being in love. I wish Matt and Shayne all the best!
I watched the show from beginning to end and the show was good..From my point of view Matt made the right choice...I was happy when Matt sented Chelsea home...Shayne was the best girl for Matt..She was the person that i felted that would be with Matt for long time...I wish then love and happiness and all the luck in the world....
DUH!!!!!! The producer's were so duped by last year's idiot they had to have a "match" this season. While Byron and Mary and Tristan and Ryan are still together....no one else has made beyond the contracted period. This season was fun to watch but it has become a reality show that is SOOOO scripted and edited it is no longer reality. <
I do not believe it will last.
Yes! I think that they had a connection from the very beginning of the show. Matt seems like a mature guy and I would think he was able to make the right choice. She is beautiful and seemed genuine with Matt and the other girls. She looked amazing last night as did Chelsea. I wish them the best!
Call me cynical, but I think this girl saw the show as an opportunity to exploit the Lamas name, and it appears to have worked. Best wishes to them, but if and when they make it to the altar, I think it will go the same direction as her parent's marriage, which was due south.
I love Shayne. As far as what people said about her expecting the proposal or seeming like she was acting when he proposed, do you think they do everything on the first take? They don't. And who cares if she didn't cry? Just because someone is not gushing tears doesn't mean they are not truly happy...
I think that Shayne was a spoiled little brat and the acting was really bad. There had been others that complimented Matt a lot better. I don't feel that if they are married, it may be a marriage doomed for failure
I loved Matt this season. I watched the show every Monday and thought that he was so real and genuine!!
It was so obvious that he'd pick Shayne!!! He ALWAYS had a different look for her than the other girls.
However....as for Shayne...I think she's beautiful..anyone who says that she's not is CRAZY....do I think she's in love with Matt...NO!!!
Six weeks of dating someone as he's dating 24 other ladies and you say your in LOVE...INSANE!!!! Trista and Ryan were successful but i think Shayne maybe saw this as a way of doors opening for....like her cover shoot with GIRLS GONE WILD??? Come on...so obvious!!!
Monkey? Well, we know they are "trainable" i.e. one did go to the moon), but did we know they could act so well... Monkey see, Monkey do?
Funny nickname, I think the joke is on us! Ahhh, t.v. romance - what a fake.
Well if we're going on hotness, he couldn't have made a worse choice. The pharma rep was MUCH better looking. Shayne was kind of hideous.
Matt was probably one of the best bachelors yet. He has a great since of humor and wasn't such a play boy. Shayne is also great. They "seemed" like a real couple with the pet name and everything. That being said.. we all know reality tv is anything, but real. If anything the show was very entertaing. If they just date for a while there is nothing wrong with that. It's better than the stiff last season who sent both girls packing. At least give us something!
He made the right choice! She was the only one there that was level headed!
I AM SO HAPPY FOR MATT AND SHAYNE... I HOPE IT LASTS....
I liked Shayne and was happy that he picked her despite her age. Anyone expecting these reality relationships to really last is partially delusional though. While I'm sure there are some people who can fall in love in 6 weeks the fact that these "couples" spend limited time together, especially alone time, really places the odds against them. I liked it a lot better when a couple of the bachelors did not propose at the end of the show... and instead gave plane tickets or whatever... it's just not that realistic to make that kind of commitment in that short of a timeframe and with that set of circumstances. No proposals might lead to no viewers... but, I for one, would still probably watch.
Case in point... I think if Brad had not felt so much pressure to actually propose to one of those two women, he might've actually chosen one of them to keep dating.
Anyway, I wish them luck! Aren't the O'Connell guy and the woman he picked still together? (I can't remember his name but the brother of the actor that's married to Rebecca Romjin).
I do believe that this entire show was scripted for Shayne and not a true story of a man looking for love. If Matt had really been looking for love he would have seen right through the poor "acting job" Shayne did. And my God, her Mother!! Does he really think he stands a chance of a lasting relationship with such a FAKE? I may have to give up watching in the future.
Im glad he picked her maybe we will finally see a happy ending.
Green Card.
Actually, I think he made a good choice. Shayne and Matt were always in sync and very comfortable together. He seems to know the risks of being with an actress, so forwarned if forearmed. For 22, Shayne (aside from the baby voice, which I think ALOT of people in love use with each other) acted mature and diplomatic on the show. What needs to be worked on it the editing of this show - It's become increasingly more manipulative. It would be nice to see just one couple from this show make it work (though Byron and Mary are still carrying on, they are not yet married).
I am just glad he didn't pick Chelsea for her sake. That was one of the fakest endings yet on the Bachelor. It just looked like very bad acting and a big joke.
I agree with 9:54 AM Sorella. Shayne is pretty and sweet. Her gift to Matt (the photo) was very cool. But she seemed like she was ACTING when he proposed. It was soooooooooooooooo cheesy and fake I couldn't even watch. It was a disgusting display. Shayne is an actress, obviously on this show for her career not love. She deserves and Oscar for her performance last night. Matt is probably single already.
Oh and her baby voice makes me cringe!

Great choice!!! Shayne is obviously very smitten with Matt as he is with her, and I am so happy for them! I wish them the best. It was a beautiful proposal.
The producers thought they would be able to generate some publicity due to Shayne's Hollywood connection. That was it. TMZ reported a month or so ago that Matt was trying to "connect" w/ one of their reporters in a bar. Obviously, he wanted some "Hollywood" connections, too. I really used to love this show. It's gotten worse each season.
she could lose 10 lbs and tone up..as an actress trying to make it in L.A. she should already know that.....it just seemed like she was acting the whole time Matt proposed..and she was so scripted and phony..
The reason this show doesnt work is that he forces himself to fall for one of 20 women who he may not even had given a second date in real life..so its not a true romance...then the dating pool opens up considerably because he know has his 15 mins of fame....he and his pick dont get to see each other for months until the finale..phone calls and emails are not the same....i doubt they are even still together
Matt made a bad choice, said he wanted marriage/kids asap (due to his Dad being ill), yet he picks a 22 year old actress from LA??? There's no way Shayne's ready to settle down. Shayne seemed sweet and likeable, but she acts very young still (that baby voice has got to go) and I was still not 100% convinced she wasn't doing this for publicity and her "acting" career. She didn't even cry when he proposed (could she not act out crying at least?!!). She seemed like she was expecting it, like she's used to getting what she wants and didn't expect it to end any other way. It was lust on his part. This will not last, too bad, thought Matt was the first bachelor in ages who seemed like he had his priorities.
This show is still on?
I cried at last night's show! It was a fabulous ending and i really hope that it all works out for them. I know that the show was taped month's ago and it is just coming out on t.v. But i do wish them the best!
