Jason as personality to sell and it is one of the few that is not boring as in David Anch.. great voice, cute but so boring!
Many of current "idols" would not pass the preliminary selection to even be included in the top 12 American Idols.
Jason is the type you love or you don't care.
I love to watch him and his voice has wonderful tones.

Don't expect to see much more of contestant Jason Castro on American Idol, says judge Simon Cowell.
The dreadlocked singer, 20, forgot the lyrics to Bob Dylan's "Mr. Tambourine Man" on Tuesday's show.
Snapped Cowell: "Jason, I'd pack your suitcase!"
Even Castro confessed, "I lost some lines in there - that's kinda' bad." (Watch the video above.)
A source tells Usmagazine.com Castro was "shaken up" while performing the Dylan tune because Cowell "had his hand over his face" and kept sighing when he performed his first number of the night, Bob Marley's "I Shot the Sheriff."
Meanwhile, contestant David Archuleta was the night's clear front-runner: He received glowing praises from all of the judges.

What is Jason Castro still doing in the competition anyway?
His vocals are *extremely* weak, I hear every weekend average bar
singers with more voice than he has.
This is American Idol nationwide folks, he is way overdue and should
definitely go.

Simon is the best thing about the show. He gets the biggest applause of all the judges because he keeps it real. I like Jason a lot, but he was terrible yesterday and he should go.

Love Jason and agree with 9:20 completely. Simon was cruel last night,
don't they get tired of hereing David A's never unchanging vocals, he
has made no attempt to change his lounge singing style, yet they go on and
on about his performance and he has that Howdy Doody look week after week.
If he wins this AI then it will be the last one for me. Seyesha should never have broke down last night, if she does not go tonight then she has
the sympathy vote to thank. David Cook is awesome, but the real package,
looks, personality, sex appeal and uniqueness is Jason...

I like Jason, but lets face it, he should go tonight. I like Seyesha, but she is too Broadway and sings the same type of things every week. I don't think it was good she starting crying last night either. She may have blown it for herself. David Cook has been my favorite throughout the competion because he already seems like a star but I have to say the past few weeks he hasn't been quite as impressive as earlier weeks. David A. gets better and better every week and while I think there is more to this competition then vocals, his vocals are so exceptional that he is blowing the competition out of the water with maybe the exception of David Cook. The final two should be David C. and David A. Throughout the show, NO ONE has been even close to their level. I will be happy so long as one of the David's win. Seyesha and Jason should BOTH pack their suit cases. They aren't even in the same league. Brooke should have stayed longer then Seyesha. Seyesha is good, but we have heard voices like hers so many times. She is boring.

I do agree that Jason should be packing his suitcase, but you never know. Brooke should have lasted longer than him. I think David Cook should win and I really don't see all they hype about David A. He's a seventeen year old singing old songs that just don't do anything for me. Just my opinion.
Sayesha, I like. She is the only one that trys to hit some high notes and does pretty darn good at it. they don't give her enough credit. I love her voice.

Jason is my number one. I just dig his voice and genre... i don't think he'll win and i'm just hoping he doesn't go home tonight. I want syesha gone... she sounds like every other beyonce, lauren hill, mariah carey, janet jackson, whitney houston wannabe out there. She doesn't bring anything special to the competition. I'll buy music from castro and cook though... Castro b/c his voice is beautiful, unique, and soothing... and cook b/c he just makes his songs SOUND cool... I listen to him and think... wow... he's just awesome.

Simon always blasts people for playing it safe (except David A.) and tells them to not be a carbon copy so.....Jason mixed it up and then told him don't mess with a classic!! Come on Simon quit telling contestants to do something and them blast them when they do it. Jason may have been the worst last night but he certainly can sell some records with his unique style.
Can David A. please sing a pop song? He has a great voice but enough with the sappy ballads

I think "American Idol" is really pushing him to win because he's so young, and it's easier to mold him into the 'perfect' American Idol. Not to mention that he would probably get a lot of press because he's young, which would do wonders for the show.
As for Jason Castro, he just needs to GO. Anyone who screws up "Mr.Tambourine Man" on national TV and sings it worse than Bob Dylan just needs to STOP. NOW. I mean, Bob Dylan wasn't the best singer, but his lyrics were amazing & he connected with the music. Jason Castro has no feeling for the music, and he shouldn't have tried a Bob Dylan piece.

david A. shud go. same songs every week, good voice yea, no personality, no stage presence...hes not that great. Jason n davidC atleast take chances and make songs their own. they look like stars and have better personality are better performers n can sing. syesha is good too.

Yes Simon was harsh- and I don't blame him. Idol is a business and they need the best of the season to proceed forward. If he did that performance during an audition for a record producer they would have laughed him out of the office. He would have never gotten to the chorus. Jason is adorable and his ah shucks attitude has kept him in this far- but it is his time to go and hope the voting reflects that. For his career he needs to sync up with a producer who can hone his genre and formulate songs that meet his range. Rather than sing bad carbon copies.
