Who does Jordin Sparks want to follow in her footsteps on American Idol?
Rocker David Cook!
"Based on last week, David Cook went way up in my book," she tells Usmagazine.com of the Missouri native, 25, who impressed her with his performance of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean."
"I'm an Idol freak!" she adds. "I watched the show before I was on it, and I watch now.
"I can't vote as much as I would like to, but I vote."
Sparks, 18 — who hit Saturday's Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards — will return to the show to perform on the upcoming Idol Gives Back special. (Click here to see Reese Witherspoon's photo from the show.)
She says Simon Cowell and Co. hope to raise more than the $76 million they scored last year.
Adds Sparks, "I know they want it to be bigger!"

David Cook, while talented, has repeatedly taken credit for, or at the very least not given credit to, another band or artist's originality. Practically every one of his 'original' arrangements (that he completely takes credit for by smiling as the judges praise how bold and unique he is) .........
I have yet to hear him take credit for anything or to claim that he is doing anything groundbreaking. He has every right to smile because his PERFORMANCE is good and yes, different. EVERYONE sings songs like the original artist while trying to sound different than the original. He is just smarter because he's taking a version we don't often hear and that is adding to the performance. Get your facts straight before you accuse someone of being a fraud.

If you people remember. This week david mentioned that he used those peoples versions of the songs! So he did give credit to them! Watch the show and you would have heard him. Oh and he is the IDOL Favorite!!! He's gonna win!! Go DAVID!!

To 6:16 and 7:19 if you watched the show regularly you would know that credit is given to the artists. Ryan Seacrest says at the beginning "Now covering Chris Cornells version of Billy Jean...heres David Cook" I have never seen or heard David Cook take credit for the covers he does. You might want to watch the show or if you do watch pay more attention before you go ripping on a contestant.

Also, good luck to Jordin Sparks for following in David Cook's footsteps as a rocker, etc. And it's great to hear that she has always watched Idol, even before going on, and that she still votes for her favorite contestnants, etc. even though she can't vote as much, I guess when you're on the show, you can vote as much as you want,? but when off, you can't!? Let me know if that's true or not!?

He's good and it just pisses me off that he can't own up to the fact that he isn't as original and groundbreaking as he pretends to be.

David Cook's version of Billie Jean was ripped off from Chris Cornell. It's a pretty cool version, but Chris Cornell did that version first, so put credit where it's due.
