Actor Brad Renfro, who rose to fame in the title role of the 1994 John Grisham flick The Client, has died, the L.A. County Coroner has confirmed to Access Hollywood.

He was 25.

A cause of death is still unknown.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Renfro was found unresponsive by a roommate in an L.A. residence.

He was pronounced dead at 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to ET.

No signs of foul play or visible injury were detected. The case is under investigation by the coroner's office.

In December 2006, Renfro was charged with attempting to possess heroin following a drug bust involving 14 other people in L.A.

Last June, he was found in violation of his probation after failing to enroll in a drug treatment program, TMZ.com reported.

In 1995, the actor and former child star — who also starred opposite Keira Knightley in the 2005 thriller The Jacket — won The Hollywood Reporter's "Young Star" award.
