MCET - Hey, you said just b/c I have friends in Iraq doesn't lend validity to my argument...and I'm saying just b/c you had friends killed on 9/11 doesn't make your argument any more valid either. Just saying...

Here's an example, Palestine and Israel: the Israeli government has agreed to EVERY demand made by Palestine, most noteably, pulling out of settlements on the Gaza Strip in 2005. YET, Palestinian terrorists STILL implement suicide attacks against Israel. Terrorists don't normally have a great track record of keeping their promises to the west, so to believe what OBL is saying, is slapping history in the face, and an my opinion, extremely naive.

Maybe we should just agree to disagree. You think America's at fault for terrorist attacks on us (and most likely the rest of the western countries in the world who've been attacked), and I don't.

SOMEONE TAKE NOTICE - How long have you read the boards? I'll get attacked even if I post something NOT directed toward another person, simply b/c people don't like my views on other stuff. These people believe in what they're doing. They're not just randomly insane people who will kill just because they feel like killing. They are doing it for what they feel is a very legitimate reason. And I can't believe I'm having to explain this. Religious wars have been going on for as long as man has been around. This is a religious war. Do I think they're crazy? Of course. But that doesn't mean that there aren't cause and effects for their behavior. And just continuing to rattle the hive, while not bothering to take into account their grievances is postitively Bush-like. What a stupid f*cking a-hole. I was even with him for a bit, until I learned about the intel manipulation. I gave him the benefit of the doubt right up until that point. I can't believe how much time I spent defending that clown.

You mentioned your ties to the war in Iraq as a means to say that you know what it's about. That doesn't add up. I mentioned my ties to 9/11 to say that I know first hand the devastation of that attack. But as long as you know somebody in Iraq...you must know what's up.

MCET - You're right, OBL is a very sane and rational person who will hold to his word...because we all know sane and rational people think it's ok to send followers such as women and teenagers on suicide missions to blow innocent people up! And yes, we CAN go into countries in the middle east that threaten our security and tell them they can't do that. You're not pragamatic, you're ignorant.

So in the last article we were discussing this topic, you said you don't care who I know over in Iraq (and apparently who I know who's died), well what if I said I don't care who you know who died in the 9/11 attacks? If who I know wasn't valid, neither are your friends' stories....so the whole first part of your paragraph is irrelevant.

But since we've digress, let's talk about the real issue here...and that's the fact that you make excuses for and evidently think it's perfectly fine for celebs to do drugs up the whazoo and end up in the hospital for "exhaustion," and for people not to say STOP DOING STUPID SH*T TO YOUR BODY! Just so you know, THAT'S NORMALLY considered a very liberal view.

What am I making excuses for? I'm from Washington, DC and I lived in NYC on September 11th. I had a friend die at each the Pentagon and the WTC. Two coworkers lost their brothers in the WTC attack. I watched both towers fall down from the roof of my apartment. I'm well aware of what Bin Laden is capable of. This is why I believe we need to go to great lengths to get out of this guys line of fire. You completely disregard everything because you think he is going to hate us no matter what. He's not an alien, you moron. He his grievances with us. And it's NOT OUR FREEDOM. It's our imperialistic tendencies. It's our presence in Arab countries. It's our incomprehensibly naive assertion that we can go anywhere and tell people how to live. The only way to make our country safe from these a-holes is to get out of their business. There is no "defeating" them. It's a fool's errand, and one that is getting people killed in massive numbers. And the scary part is that he's not even IN Iraq. Keep your head in the sand and keep buying all the horsecrap that these guys are selling. It's insanity. Truly. Bush has lost him mind. If he ever had one.

What does quoting OBL have to do with anything? Get your head out of the sand. Mommy and Daddy and Big Brother are not doing you right. It's time for YOU to do your own homework. And that includes finding out why radical Muslims hate us. The reasons you're being given are BS and, like the pre-war intelligence, are being used selectively by your leaders to manipulate you. Wake up and smell the coffee.

This knee-jerk response to me quoting Bin Laden is a PERFECT example...perfect...of why the Republican party has gone to crap. It's because of the head in the sand people who hear only what they want to hear and trust everything their psydo-Jesus tells them. Acknowledge for a moment that it's possible that we can solve this issue with Bin Laden without killing thousands of Americans and hundreds upon hundreds of billions of dollars. Katie E...my point was that because YOU say she needs to stop doing drugs means nothing. You don't know what put her in the hospital. Touring artists have to be ON every night. Many of them use drugs to assist with that...many use drugs recreationally, as well. Sometimes that results in a little stay at the clinic. So be it. But you don't know bleep about it, so you have no business saying what she NEEDS to do. But you obviously get off on it, for whatever reason.
