If you have watched previously, other guests have greeted the hosts differently in the past - some shake hands with one and the kiss another. They do this because of a variety of reasons such as having a personal or professional relationship with them. Alicia Silverstone had every right to greet the hosts as she did and frankly, she had courage to appear after the big blowup when the situation was tense. From what I understand from someone in the audience that day, it was very uncomfortable for everyone.
As for team Rosie or Team Elizabeth, that's just silly; as is reducing your comments to name calling or projecting anger on either of these hosts. The argument to me appeared to go to a personal level (for one bringing up Trump) that was inappropriate and I think that's what Alicia Silverstone probably reacted to.Alicia is as much a celebrity as anyone else on there and her efforts on behalf of energy conservation and as an advocate for animals is worthy of her having a guest appearance.
I will miss Rosie on the View and in fact have removed my Tivo season pass of the show. She added a voice to people who need to question what is going on and sometimes to do it loudly enough for the message to get out. Her method worked - she was on every talk show from MSNBC to Fox. Patriotism sometimes is to question what is going on and her passion for the troops and for the country was evident.
