Amy Winehouse's cheek is lumpy and itchy from a contagious skin infection.

"Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo, which she's been told can be highly contagious," her rep says. "Because of that, she's been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."

Impetigo is a common skin infection among children, according to the Mayo Clinic. "Although it commonly occurs when bacteria enter the skin through cuts or insect bites, it can also develop in skin that's perfectly healthy," their site reports. "Impetigo is seldom serious, and minor infections may clear on their own in two to three weeks."

Winehouse, 24, won five Grammy Awards last month and has been battling addiction issues.
