I can't figure out all the hype around Angelina Jolie and never will. She is not prettier than many women and did nothing new, except that she was the first to get knocked up with Brad Pitt's child. (Officially. No one can tell whether he created other offspring in his life.) She is not morally superior to anybody and there are many people who fought with drug addiction and obsessions, overcame them and became useful to society. Why would we applaud her for moving on? And what makes her so special that we have to hear how we should be more like her every day of our lives? Brad Pitt? Yeah, that's the answer, so forget it.

I found Beowulf to be educational, since I hadn't read the poem since I was assigned it in high school and that was a long time ago.

The "special effects" were completely overrated and useless. The studio could have spent the same amount of money or even less just building a set and filming a movie as usual, and the story would have been more credible, believable and moving. Instead, all the digitizing just distracted from everything. You couldn't even tell who half of the actors were.

Angelina Jolie acts well in this one - subtle and understated, which is very rare for her. She is a hit and miss actor.

In short, it's a rental.

What a joke for a nomination. Are they serious? What, is this a pity award, or did they owe Brad Pitt? She should not feel good about being nominated. She doesn't deserve it.

I have come to believe that many of Aniston's fans are completely hypocritical. Sure, there's some that aren't, but the majority of ones that post here are. On the other hand, most of Angie's fans that post on this sight seem to be thoughtful, educated and fair people. I've been reading these blogs for a long time and I know what I'm talking about.
