After Being Called a "Hypocrite," Angelina Jolie Backs Off Journalist Contract

Usmagazine.com has learned that Angelina Jolie has reversed her position on restricting reporters' questions at tomorrow’s press junket for her movie, A Mighty Heart. Paul Colford, Director of Media Relations for the Associated Press tells Us: "APTN was asked to sign a document pertaining to an interview with her scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) but declined to sign because it is not AP policy to do so. Jolie has agreed to the one-on-one interview without the signed document."

The news comes after Fox's Roger Friedman reported that Jolie had her lawyer "require all journalists to sign a contract before talking to her." Calling her "a mighty hypocrite," Fox pointed out that Jolie's film A Mighty Heart champions freedom of press, and the Wednesday premiere of the film supported an organization called Reporters Without Borders.

"Angelina has been caught in so many other lies, why is this news? And people don't condemn her for adopting kids, they rightfully question why she collects them like toys, then dumps them on the help and in shoves them into daycare, dragging them all over the world and hustling them into one new daycare after another. Kids need stability, and if she is going to uproot them from all they have known, she should have enough compassion to understand that they need stability. Instead, they get drug all over the place and stranger after stranger enters their lives to care for them. When they are home, they are in daycare. Yeah Angelina calls daycare "school" - another lie. Didn't Angelina say she was going to take a year off? She has no idea how to be a mother and she lies about being an at-home mother WHILE SHE IS OUT MAKING MOVIES BACK TO BACK! I seen her last night on Larry King and she gave this bs interview statement where she stated "How excited she was when the executives called her and asked her to play Miriam Pearl in the Mighty Heart movie, as the creature spoke, she looked down, even when Larry King repeated that "so you were asked to play the part", and the Coward Creature lied! by forcing them to sign a contract ,stating what HE was allowed to say or not!
In Europe we like to call that HUMAN RIGHTS!!!!
And Jolie was trying to force journalists to give up that right by threatening them with legal action.
Thats not a small thing she's trying to mess around with. Think clear and straight.

Clarity by representative she meant lawyer. of course she has a lawyer, who doesn't have a lawyer? he put it out there and she didn't know about it... and I don't think its that big of a deal.. they should be focusing on the movie and not every move her and brad pitt make... it's an amazing story and that all gets glossed over because the world is obsessed with this affair and its gross.. how would you like if every move you made was documented and put on display .. wouldn't be so nice... how can you have so much hatred for people you don't know.. how do you know what she is really like. what kind of person she really is.. what she does on her own time. you don't! you draw conclusions from carefully edited interviews and snapshots of someone elses life! get your own!

I am not sure but I don't think Voight treated her mother very well. And John Voight is kind of a jerk. A parent can be very poisonous in a persons life. People magazine finally did run something about this, buried in a story about Angelina Jolie's appearance on the Daily Show under a headline about how she wants "14 kids."

"'There was a memo that went out to ask people if they would sign it that said, 'Don't get into personal questions, focus on the movie,' and things like that,' Jolie explained. 'It was from my representative trying to be protective of me, but it was excessive and I wouldn't have put it out there.'

That's right, Angelina, pass the buck. The lies, manipulation, hypocrisy and control of this woman are staggering. She's been doing this for years. It's well documented. She claims she doesn't have a "representative" and then magically conjures one up when it suits her needs. Not to mention that she is in absolute control of everything that has anything to do with Angelina Jolie. And now her poor lawyer has taken a hit for her. I wonder how much she'll pay him off before she lets him go. His career is obviously over.

We all know Angelina Jolie's one of the biggest hypocrites around. Lately, I've been thinking that an even bigger hypocrisy in the "Mighty Heart" business is that she is using it to promote "forgiveness" as a message, but still can't seem able to forgive her father.

Oh, that's right, they are now exchanging "letters." Funny, just a couple of years ago she had pretty much declared all out war on him, claiming "I don't have a father." I predicted here that she will use a reconciliation with her father to better her public image, if that's what it takes. I wouldn't put it past her.

That's funny that she should mention her "reps," because she has also repeatedly said that she has "no agent and no publicist." That contract was written by HER LAWYER AT HER EXPLICIT REQUEST. Absolutely nothing happens in Angelina Jolie's life without her total control of it. She is that controlling. And she's been doing it for years.

She once barred Reuters, a U.K.-based news agency that is one of the largest in the world and that hosts "AlertNet," a news Web site specifically about the world's humanitarian crises, from one of her red-carpet appearances, claiming Reuters was "not international enough." If that isn't ignorance, I don't know what is.

Angie was interviewed on the Daily Show. She stated that it was actually optional, not requirement, for anyone to sign. She also said that her reps did this and that she really did not know about it. She finally stated that she, personally if had known, would not have ask the press to do this.

I also think it's amusing that while Angelina Jolie has repeatedly claimed that she does not pay any attention to media coverage of her, she responds to all of it, either directly or indirectly, and seems to have a very clear idea of what "people think" of her. She knows she is despised.

She has been doing this for years, especially since Brad. Both of them have had this confidentiality agreement for a long time. This is precisely what we all hate about her so much. It has nothing to do with Jennifer Aniston.

It is about ABUSE OF POWER. Like a lot of people in positions of power or authority who just shouldn't be, Angelina Jolie chooses to abuse it by putting controls on the freedom of information. Unluckily for her, control like that always has a backlash.
