Apprentice Winner Bill Rancic and E!’s Giuliana DePandi Engaged

 WireImage.com Former Apprentice winner Bill Rancic, 35, and E! News anchor Giuliana DePandi, 31, are engaged. Rancic popped the question Friday night during a romantic helicopter tour above his hometown of Chicago. "When Bill pulled out the ring I don't know what made me more speechless - the fact that he was asking me to marry him or the ring! It was the most beautiful diamond I have ever seen," DePandi tells Us Weekly of the sparkler from jeweler Jeffrey Rackover. "The ring is stunning. It's so sparkly, it's amazing.” DePandi and Rancic plan to wed next August in southern Italy, where Depandi was born. It will be the first wedding for the couple, who have been dating since April 2006. In June, DePandi told Us, “If I married Bill, I’d be the luckiest girl in the world! He is honestly the perfect man -- he's sexy‚ with all-American good looks, he's successful in real estate. We're so in love!" DePandi and Rancic first met two-and-a-half years ago when DePandi’s then-boyfriend, actor Jerry O'Connell, introduced the pair at the NBC upfronts where networks present their new season’s line-up. At the time, DePandi says O'Connell joked, “I‚d introduce you to my girlfriend but I’m afraid you two would run off together because you’re so perfect [for each other].” DePandi has been anchor and managing editor of E! News since January 2005. She joined E! News as a correspondent in 2002. Her relationship advice book Think Like a Guy: How to Get a Guy by Thinking Like One came out in paperback this past summer. Rancic was hired by real estate mogul Donald Trump in 2004 after winning his reality television show The Apprentice. He has written two books, You're Hired: How To Succeed in Business and Life from the Winner of The Apprentice and Beyond the Lemonade Stand.
