Ashlee Simpson continued to shrug off questions about her pregnancy on the Today show Friday.
"Only time will tell," she told Matt Lauer. "[Rumors] have been going on for about a year now."
"I am giving birth to my record... that's my baby," she transitioned (watch above).
Simpson excitedly showed off her engagement bling, designed by fiance Pete Wentz.
"I feel like a really lucky lady," she said. "He did a great job."
Asked when they would wed, the 23-year-old singer responded, "Right now, we are just enjoying the engagement."
On Monday, Usmagazine.com was first to report that Simpson and Wentz, 28, are expecting their first child,

The point is that she gets the news about her album out there this way. People talk about the pregnancy and then use the tagline "and her album drops...". She does an interview and performance that peole tune into to find out the gossip. I had no idea she had an album coming out until the engagement quite honestly. I won't buy it but it if gets the word out, people start watching her interviews, hearing her performances, maybe someone will bite and go and buy it. THAT'S the point, not that poeple will buy it because she's pregnant.

I find so many of these comments hilarious and crazy at the same time. I have virtually no idea who this woman is and pretty sure I never heard one of her songs. People who already are not fans of her music, such as myself will not buy her CD because a 23 year old woman might be pregnant. Paris Hilton is the queen of self promotion and has never played the baby card. I give Paris credit as being very savy how she markets her self. I am a guy but, most woman I know who have kids try not to discuss the pregnancy until after the first trimester due to the possibility of a miscarriage. The celeb media is jumping on this story to sell magazines which in turn sells advertising.I recently read a not half bad review of her new album. Musical taste is very specific to the listner. Claiming she has no talent is saying all her fans must be stupid. I have never liked rap or been able to figure it out but, I do believe the artists have talent. If you want to hate, plenty of Osma's crazies out there as opposed to a you kid who sings.

Ok yes, she has a right to her privacy but dont you see the big picture here? She is CREATING the frenzy by not just saying YES OR NO!!! Just freaking say it and then its out there DONE. When they play coy and refuse to answer they create madness and it keeps them in the press which is what they claim to hate. It's REDICULOUS. I hate when people say she's doing this for publicity. UMMMMM if you haven't noticed, the media is a bunch of vultures that assume everyone is pregnant every single day, even when they don't have new albums coming out. What should she say to make you happy? She's trying to avoid the subject and everyone assumes she's "milking" it? Ok how!? Maybe she's sick and tired of people asking her about it and just doesn't want to go there. Ever think of that?

Personally, I think it's all just a media stunt to garner attention for the record. Time will tell? As Us magazine and others salivate for the latest pics of Ashley to detect the slightest bit of a "baby bump", and it doesn't materialize, the joke will be on them. And, Ashley will have gotten free publicity when she needed it - just as her record was released.

I have decided that she is not preggers. A 'source' leaked the info right before her album is to drop? If she was she would have told her fans like she did about the engagement. She has only hid info - i.e. plastic surgery - untill there was time to promote something, then she would kinda talk about it.
She isn't knocked-up. Thank God.

It appears as though everyone forgot about what a horrible person Asslee simpson is....Anyone recall when she was in the McDonalds, drunk off her ass, jumped on the counter, swore and put down the employees, all on camera? Yeah...what a classy lady. A nose job to fix the outside doesn't make up for her ugly inside. She can't sing, and I hope her album flops like Avrils.
