Ashlee Simpson
Ashlee Nicole Simpson, now Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, was born on October 3, 1984, in Waco, Texas, and raised in Dallas. Ashlee Simpson is Jessica Simpson’s younger sister. Her father Joe, a reverend, is her manager. At age 11, she was the youngest person ever admitted into the School of American Ballet. She danced backup for her sister Jessica from 1999 to 2001.
Simpson became engaged to Fall Out Boy bassist, Pete Wentz, in April 2008. The couple, who are expecting their first child, were married on May 17, 2008 in Encino, California. The Alice in Wonderland-themed event, held at the home of Ashlee's parents, Joe and Tina, was attended by 150 guests, including Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, and Jessica Simpson's beau Tony Romo.
Simpson’s first album, Autobiography (2004), reached platinum — something not even her sister Jessica Simpson has achieved. Like her sister, Simpson gained public attention by appearing on a MTV reality show, though hers, The Ashlee Simpson Show, focused on the making of her first album. Prior to that, she had a guest role on Malcolm in the Middle(2001), a regular role on Seventh Heaven (2002-2004), and a small part in The Hot Chick (2002). Infamously, Simpson appeared on Saturday Night Live in 2004, and was embarrassed in front of a national audience when she began lip-syncing to the wrong guided vocal track, then did a strange little dance and walked offstage mid-song. Simpson finished touring the U.S. to promote her new album I Am Me in 2006. For the tour, Simpson recreated her image - iterally - by returning to her blond roots and getting plastic surgery on her nose. The newly engaged and pregnant singer returns with a less emotional yet still pleasing party mix, Bittersweet World, which is set for an April 2008 release.
