"It's rock glam: fun, colorful, young and edgy," Avril Lavigne says of her new clothing line in the latest of Us Weekly, on newsstands now.
Abbey Dawn, named after the nickname her dad calls her, will debut at Kohl's stores nationwide in July.
The threads (ranging from $24 to $48) mimic the "Complicated" singer's signature skater-girl-chic style and include hoodies, jeans and tees in bright colors and skull and zebra patterns.
"Everything is fit to be sexy and flattering," the 23-year-old tells Us.
Lavigne, who had a hand in everything from choosing fabrics to collaborating on designs, plans to wear the line during her Best Damn Tour, which launches this month.
Lavigne's hubby Deryck Whibley of Sum 41 approves.
"He's excited," she tells Us. "He likes everything I like!"

To answer the below question: Avril's concerts are not being canceled. In fact she has added extra dates since first announcing this tour (for instance Kingston and Sudbury, Ontario are two I can think of).
And btw, I posted a comment way down saying that I have an Avril website and discovered the source of Avril's childhood nickname (and now clothing line name) "Abbey Dawn"...
But I thought my name in that comment would be a link to my webpage and it isn't. So if you want to know where the REAL Abbey Dawn is - and what it was - just do a Google search for:
abbey dawn origin bloggergirl
It will either be on the first result Google shows for my website, or you'll be able to see a link to it on the right side of that page.

Here's another exclusive - for me! ;)
It's true that "Abbey Dawn" is the nickname that Avril's dad gave her as a child, and her friends started using it too, but I did some searching around to find out WHERE or WHAT Abbey Dawn actually is... and I'm about 99.9% sure I did!
It's an old sanctuary set up by a famous Canadian poet just outside Kingston Ontario Canada (the biggest city next to Avril's home town of Napanee) that was a bird sanctuary and also a gathering place for creative people like poets, musicians, and writers.
I've got info, a Google map link to see where it was, and a few pics on my own Avril Lavigne blog for anyone who's interested in reading about it (click my name for this comment).

In this same article, in the magazine, Us tells us that Avril says "she doesn't look like anyone else". Avril Lavigne looks like a basic emo/skater kid. I don't have anything against that type of fashion/music/mindset, but... she looks like any other skater/emo kid. She's not that unique, or... dare I say it... original. But, I guess in this time it's hard to be original.
Her "manga" is also nice, but she should have gotten better artists who can at least draw feet properly (it looks as if the artist(s) don't have a good grasp on proper anatomy yet) to illustrate her stories.
I could probably make up an "Avril Lavigne-style" outfit by going to WalMart. "Clothing lines" these days seem to be hoodies bound with chains and ugly patterns... But at least the super fans are happy.

Avril is awesome. She is my idol. People don't even know her when they talk crap about her. just leave her alone, what has she ever done to you! Her style is different, it does not make her look like a "ghoul". God people, just get lives already. Clothes never hurt anyone. I am 15 almost 16, no one has ever bothered me and told me that my style looked like crap or anything! I dress a lot like Avril! I can't wait for her new clothes line to come out! You go girl!

So i am definitely not an Avril fan at all. Her music is not something i care for, but i do enjoy her style. I think she dresses similar to adolescents with my interests everyday. Though i am going to be 19 in the fall, i believe her clothing line will fit my taste. It sounds like something young girls will like to wear too. "bright pink, purples, stars and skulls" I swear it sounds like an interesting combo and i cant wait to check it out before i head off to college. :]
