Upon earning a degree from the University of Virginia in both Economics and Foreign Affairs, McKenzie packed his bags for New York, eager to put his acting skills to good use. Born Benjamin Schenkkan, the young actor decided to change his surname since there was already someone registered with the Screen Actors Guild with the same name. Featured in the New York stage production of Life is a Dream the talented thesp also shared his talents at the Williamsport Theater Festival and his alma mater, the University of Virginia. McKenzie then took on the role of Johnny in 2005’s critically acclaimed independent film Junebug, which received high praise at the Sundance Film Festival. He recently starred in 2007's 88 Minutes, a film in which he plays opposite Al Pacino.
