Life in the Big Easy has had its challenges for Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt since they moved to New Orleans in January. Ever since Jolie's mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand, died of cancer last month, the star just hasn't been the same, sources say.
Jolie's emotional distress has resulted in a noticeable weight loss. The 5-foot-8 star now weighs 109 pounds, says a source close to the couple. "She isn't eating."
Jolie, 31, is also "very lonely and desperate to make new friends," the source tells Us.
For now, she has been importing a support system by flying in old childhood friends from LA.
The source adds: "Brad has been worried about her day and night. She has been under so much stress, and Brad is trying to be understanding."

Well, your bones must be heavy, cause i'm 5'6 too and weigh 103 lb, and i'm not anorexic, i'm perfectly normal...
If AJ is 109, it's OK. If she's 98... i'd be a bit worried.

I mean, look at her arms, those horrible veins, bones, her beautiful head looks too big when you compare it to her.....small body.

Is Angelina too thin? Answer: Leave the woman alone. If any woman looked half as good as her on her worst day, they'd be blissful. Where is the introspection in how many meals she eats a day? If you think she is hungry, send her some McDonalds coupons and be done with it.

She looks way way way too thin. I never thought she was that pretty to begin with but this is just horrible. As a young mother I know it takes a lot of energy to chase around a toddler let alone 4 kids. If she is going to be a good mother to those kids, as well as a good role model, she needs to get back on track and do whats right. Wasting away in front of your kids is not acceptable in my opinion. Its just as bad as doing drugs or something else thats harmful to you. SOme people take it to the extreme (whether it be obesity or anorexia) and they need help. I hope she gets better, nobody deserves to live like that.

As an anorexic myself I'm worried for Angelina, especially given her recent loss. Something is wrong here. Stress and things out of one's control are definitely triggers for not eating, so the reasons for the weight loss aren't entirely an untruth. Anorexia is about more than food, it's about controlling one's environment when everything else seems chaotic and out of one's control. Given her profession (and Brad's apparent preference for skinny women), going ana under stress seems about right. I've done exactly the same thing and used the same reasons for becoming extremely thin. I hope I'm wrong, 'cuz anorexia is hard to overcome.
I've always liked Angelina and realize she's small boned and naturally slender. Something isn't right about this loss of weight, though. I think there's more than just grief going on here and wish her the best. It's troublng seeing such a strong woman looking tired and defeated.

I don't think she looks THAT skinny (not scary, anyway). Nonetheless, she is obviously losing weight due to stress and doesn't fell up for eating (I can RELATE!! I'm the same way). Of course, I'm underweight too by about the same margin at 5 foot 6, so maybe I'm not a great judge...

I'm not loosing weight, or making myself a barbie doll cause someone says it's kewl. Media and fashion have gone out of control. I say be healthy AJ!! Anonymous 6:19: I don't understand why you have to trash JA in order to defend AJ. AJ does many good things in her own right. By trashing JA you fuel the notion that AJ did something wrong and that her actions must be justified in some way. BP, JA, and AJ all have good qualities. I am sure BP and AJ would not understand your need to trash JA since they have never felt the need to do so. I think BP ended his marriage with JA out of love for AJ not hatred toward JA. BP and JA handled their divorce in a very civil manner and moved on. What has JA done to deserve such hatred?

She would not be lonely if she took care of all those kids herself. They better move back to L.A. They don't belong in the south. The southerns look at that couple with contempt, not the admiration that they are use to in Tinsletown. She does look thinner, but both of them look a lot worse than they did when they got together. They will eventually regret the pain they caused others and it will come back to them.

Us Weekly 7:36: I agree with most of the things you say but I don't understand why you are showing hostility towards JA. She did not accuse BP of cheating. She said she did not blame AJ for the divorce. BP and JA had an amicable divorce (as amicable as can be expected in Hollywood). What has JA done to deserve such hatred???? I think BP, AJ, JA and BP family (they are friends with both women) have handled the situation in an excellent manner.

I only read about half of the comments but I do think she is too skinny and not for the reasons mentioned. First of all, it is not trick photography that shows her skinny. If you saw the pictures from the Golden Globes you can see her bones sticking out. Also, she was really thin around the same time that she got pregnant with Shiloh so I don't think that her weight loss is all because of her moms death. I think that the constant comparing of her and Jen coupled with the pressure to be thin in Hollywood, especially after having a baby, is the reason why she is so thin. I believe that she has so much will power that she was able to lose the baby weight really fast. The only thing is that I think she has gone too far. When I was 125 lbs and 5'7" I was underweight because I was always tired and had no energy. When I gained 5 lbs I felt alot better. I am a big fan of Angie, especially for all of her charity work and the "giving to others" example she is to everyone around the world. I hope that she can gain a few pounds back. She will probably feel better too.

Can't believe how many people are stick to tabloids. People should use their brain when they read magazine like Us. TABLOIDS need stories to sell, and they have to dramatize, exaggerate and blow things up, which are in fact peanuts and of no relevance. This pic is stretched, just to give the tabloids the appearance of truth. If you look at that pic more closely, you discover that the legs are too long! It's a manipulated optical desillusion. If one wants to sell story, one should know that good stories are when people get emotional, either they feel sympathy or antipathy with the protagonists. Everybody knows that "Desperate Housewives" is over-exaggerated and is not like our daily neighbourhood's life!
People should stop judging other people especially those they don't know personally, even then we never understand a human being completely. I prefer to judge people by their actions, but I prefer not playing God. So I admire Angelina for her courage in doing things that question social norms and conventions when these make people narrow-minded, intolerant, nationalist and fanatic.
Talking about how many pounds she's got is so superficial! If only people learn just a bit from what Angelina does, it would make the world a little better. How many of you are really concerned about social injustice and politcal correctness? how many of you care for orphanage, environmental development, sister/brotherhood etc. I am sure that most of you - when earn as much as Angelina - just think of manicure, plastic surgery, red carpet, becoming the sexiest woman/man in AskMen and enjoys being in the limelight and on good terms with gossips' journalism etc. These celebrities are shallow in my eyes.
Most of you who reproach Angelina for homewrecking or whatsoever (though you were not married with Brad, nor anything can be proven, tabloids are gossips!) reminds me this hateful mob shouting for lynch murder. Please look inside of yourself before you start shouting at others, especially when you deep in your heart don't know the reasons for your shouting! Perhaps most of you have lost your heart, you should go and look for it... and not sit here and vomit your personal discontent on others.

Lance Armstrong certainly did leave his wife (after she stood by him during his cancer treatments), and his kids, for Sheryl Crow. As for all the others mentioned, I wouldn't doubt it. Hollywood/people haul out the "morals" when it suits them, but never include themselves.
