I read the other comments and I hate it when I see people that are so misinformed about heroin (not that it's their fault)... heroin is NOT dangerous, IN AND OF ITSELF. Studies show that addicts can tolerate up to a ninefold increase in the size of their standard, already large, dose. And it is estimated that a toxic dose for users is at least 1800 mg and for non-users it is at least 500 mg. Almost no junkies even begin to approach these numbers - not that they could afford to even if they wanted to use this much. What actually kills people is when they mix heroin with other drugs, particularly CNS depressants like alcohol or benzodiazepines, but also cocaine when speedballing. Ironically, it's the ignorant belief that heroin itself is the culprit that causes users to mix heroin with other drugs; even small amounts of heroin can kill when mixed with other depressants. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not actually recommending heroin use because it is addictive and expensive and (unfairly) stigmatized.
As far as Renfro goes I couldn't have told you who he was before he died, but it's still sad when something like this happens. My thoughts are with his family.
