Doctors don't know everything, breast cancer survivor Kylie Minogue says.
The Aussie singer, 39, told Ellen DeGeneres yesterday that her first physician failed to diagnose her with the disease.
"Because someone is in a white coat and using big medical instruments doesn't necessarily mean they're right," she said.
After touring briefly, she said she decided to get another check-up after hearing stories from other women about being misdiagnosed.
"I don't want to say that to frighten people but that's just a fact," Minogue said.
DeGeneres, also a breast cancer survivor, revealed that she once discovered a lump in her breast so she got had a mammogram.
"They didn't find anything," DeGeneres said, "and a couple of weeks later I found a lump."
Added Minogue, "You must follow your intuition and if you have any doubt go back again".
Breast cancer is currently the most common cancer in women and the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the 15-54 age group.

Wow...a misdiagnosis is no big deal???
OK...why don't you go get yourself some cancer and see how you feel when two hours, two days, or even, forbid, "TWO WEEKS" goes by and you don't know. I guarrantee you'll have a much different perspective!!!!
Speaking from experience, ( I was diagnosed with breast cancer four days after my son was born!) I can tell you that the absolute MOMENT you find out you have cancer you want to get it out - and your first questions is...How long has it been there!!!!
Time is so important especially for women getting breast cancer at an early age!!!! So - it is so important that this message continues to get out!!! So - it is good that they are not just sitting back happy that they are "still here", they are doing something about it!!! Go Kylie and Ellen!!!

Listen, Breast Cancer is really hard to find especially in younger women. You are told to start getting them at 40 or 10 years before the closest relative got Breast cancer. It is hard to do, and if you have a history go often. There are also plenty of women who go in sure they have breast cancer and it is not there. There needs to be found a new more precise way of checking the breast that is less painful.

Practically everything in our lives is carcinogenic. It's in our air, our food and our water. People need to start freaking out and making governments and corporations more responsible!
A study released last year informed us that there are trace elements of carcinogens in everything from our shampoo to our window cleaner. Each product has under the acceptable level of carcinogens but when you add a few of them together (toothpaste, shampoo and laundry soap, for an example) it then becomes unacceptable.

When are people going to stand up for a clean environment? We are eating, breathing, drinking pollution. There is a link with cancer, and children are the most vulnerable. More and more cancers ahead of us, so let's start giving our kids better odds at life.

We're living in the middle of a cancer epidemic.
I am a 45 year old woman who survived lung cancer four years ago. One more year and I'll be in the clear. The only reason they found mine as early as they did was because I could not get the little voice out of my head that was repeatedly telling me to "get an x-ray." Honestly, it would wake me up at night. So finally I asked my doctor, who didn't see any reason for the x-ray, but I was insistant so he wrote out a requisition for me to have it done. If I wouldn't have listened to that little voice in my head I would be dead now.
The same year I was diagnosed, 5 other women that I knew were also diagnosed - some with lung cancer -- some with breast cancer. Four of the six of the women are now dead.
Kylie is right. Listen to your own intuition. You could save your life.
