This whole situation is indeed sad, to say the least. In the end we all have to hope that the kids do not pay the price for both their parents foolish and selfish actions. As far as to why they are making things much harder for everyone then it has to be, I don't think anyone can really say. Of course they are both mad, they both want to have the upperhand, they both want whats owed to them and they both think the other parent is unfit, typical layout of a majority of divorces.
Personally, i think K-Fed was in it mainly for the money, the opportunity arose and he took it, obviously he isn't man enough to make his own money so he did what he had to. I think Britney really was happy to be married to him, blinded by love, excited about babies, then torn into a million pieces when it all started falling apart. I'm sure she isnt very proud that she got played, she's probably angry, sad, scared, confused and every other feeling one can have. Put all that with her age, her becoming a yound single Mom, her responsibilities, her obligations and her money and you get a messed up, foolish, pissed off, drunk celebrity unable to find the strength to except that it is what it is and now she has to turn it back into what she wants it to be. She can't see that if she would just take her career by the balls, tell K-Fed to kiss her bleep and show him just exactly what he is missing out on, she would feel a lot happier, stronger and the kids would be her main priority. Not to mention it would be easier for her to try and make the whole thing less of a battle and everyone would benefit more than they will spending all the money on lawyers and an unneeded custody battle. The kids need both their Mom and Dad, neither is more or less important in a childs life, so they need to see that and stop looking at themselves and forgetting the children all together.

Weeks after the birth of her second child, she took the right steps into getting rid of her problem, which was K-Fed. Unfortunately, it was too late she was now mother to two baby boys. What are these people hiding, why are they trying so hard not to be served, you all talking about been loyal, what about the children, how do they benefit from a mother who obviously needs help and her so-called friends won't help her, hiding away from been serve is doing more harm than good, cause in the long run the big issue here is the children, and if their mother is healthy enough to care for them.

I hope the judge in this case is hearing all that's going on and take it all into consideration when making his decision on who is more capable to care for these boys and give them a safe and secure environment to growup in.
