Spears in West Hollywood.

After last minute cancellations Thursday and Friday of last week, dancers finally got the chance to audition to appear in Britney Spears' next music video and possible tour. But the pop star skipped the tryouts, opting instead to drive her black Audi between her Malibu and Beverly Hills homes with paparazzi in tow.
As Spears performed her usual cross-town car trek, close to a hundred hopefuls lined up outside North Hollywood's Millenium Dance Studio on Monday night for a five o'clock audition call. A half an hour later, they were divided into lines and one by one were given two opportunities to impress Studio owner Robert Baker with their moves to the chorus of Spears' new hit single, "Gimme More."
Usmagazine.com has learned that dancers who make it to the next level will be notified within 24 hours.
"I would have liked to have seen her, because I've never seen a real live recording artist before," dancer Chris Pow, 18, told Us. "But I'm just glad to have an audition."
Millenium owner Baker spoke to Us after Spears' first cancellation on October 11. "Something came up at the last minute," he explained at the time (the "something" was an emergency hearing in her ongoing custody case with Kevin Federline).
Though no tour has been announced, Baker tells Us that Spears' booking patterns at Millenium mirror past pre-tour schedules. "The tell-tale sign for us is her booking space -- it's her typical warm-up behavior for a tour," he said. "She's done it this way before all her tours. It's a big sign that she's getting back her focus after all these distractions."
