Britney Gets Driver's License

Usmagazine.com has learned that Britney Spears is now a licensed California driver.
California Department of Motor Vehicles Public Information Office Jan Mendoza tells Us that Spears, 25, picked up her license today at the DMV office in Van Nuys. Though it is a temporary paper license, it is valid until a permanent one is mailed.
Spears was charged on September 21 with one count of hit and run causing property damage and one count of driving without a valid California driver's license. On Monday, a judge ordered that ex-husband Kevin Federline get custody of the former couple's sons, in part due to Spears driving the children while unlicensed.
Federline officially takes custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, tomorrow at noon. Another hearing in Spears and Federline’s custody case will be held Wednesday in Los Angeles at 1:30 pm. Spears’ friend Sam Lutfi told Us, “[Britney] is hoping the judge will reverse the order Wednesday, now that she is making steps to follow through with what they asked."

Are you driving with your kids illegally?
Are you out until all hours 80% off the week?
Did you defy a judge's orders outright and refuse to do what you needed to in order to keep your kids?
Have you entered several rehab facilities then relapsed and refused treatment?
If so, and you said you're going through what she is, I hope you do not have your kids either until you can sober up. Good luck with that. Hopefully your kids won't be scarred.

As a single mother of three going through the same BS that Britney is going through (but without the media attn.!!) I honestly have to say, give the girl a break! Seriously, She may have some problems but hopefully she will come through it all ok and eventually get her kids back! She just needs to understand that her kids come first and she should be on her best behavior untill all this settles! Keep your head up and FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!! Dont let anyone come between you and your babies!!

This girl can't even complete a list of request to keep her children but she can go tan and shop, and shop, and shop. Clearly Britney just doesn't have her children at the top of the list. Even after she completes the list of requests I would never give her 50/50 custody. It is obvious she needs help. I can't understand how someone like her can accomplish as much as she has at such a young age but can't follow orders by a judge. She must think she is above the law like Paris. What a dumb, dumb girl. Take those kids away from her for at least a year. Maybe then she will take motherhood serious enough!

Absolutely right about her sense of worth more than likely being directly related to how much attention she receives and the fact that the attention comes with the more sex appeal she oozes. Of course the discussion could go into girls and women as a whole in society and the self esteem issues, but I'll try not to go there as I could go on ages about it all.
She had people around her telling her and hiding her in regards to her image from a young age. She was what? 16 when her single came out? Let's be honest, she does not have the strongest voice and they used her image to promote her and keep her newsworthy. And what 16 year old does not want to be seen as wise beyond their years, and more womanly and sexy? I would not be surprised if there were others around Lynn telling her what to do as well, playing the it's for the good of her career card, but ultimately the buck stops with her. Lynn's naivete, Britney's upbringing, in the end they are possible explanations but that doesn't make them ok.
Britney needs to realize she can still learn from her mother though- or anyone for that matter. It does seem her mother has tried to help even if it means she gets placed on the crap list and it's not the popular choice.
I do hate the country excuse. I'm from the South and in no way is it synonymous with stupid, despite the stereotype. It was one thing to drive with your kid on your lap 20 years ago in a car with no airbags on a back road with no traffic where the speed limit was 25. Another thing entirely to do so now when the dangers are more known. What gets me more than anything is her excuses. She cannot take responsibility for anything. There is something very wrong there and that seemed to come before her addiction issues. I do think that must also lie with her upbringing, but who knows?

I blame her mother for putting her out there at such a tender age in those skimpy outfits when what she should have been teaching her was morals and values and self-esteen. Britney has proven that she thinks she is only valid and worthy if she is getting attention by showing her body. That is erroneous thinking that was "taught" by her mother, who also used her for her meal ticket. No one seems to point out that Lynne Spears et al. were also in it for the bucks! My daughter has an absolutely beautiful singing voice and I would NEVER pimp her out just so I could have a bigger house, fancier cars or more expensive clothes. Everyone jokes about Britney being from Louisiana, but my entire family is from Louisiana and one thing I will say, they live very simple lives (not in trailers before any of you start on that) and we are an EXTREMELY CLOSE family. It is the fame and fortune that has ruined this little girl's life! They pushed her and pushed her and her outfits got tinier and tinier. She is suffering from what many child actors suffer from once they get older and their audience appeal has moved on. There is an organization for those child actors to be protected from their family/managers, etc. Someone should really start one for the young singers as well to prevent this from happening to them too!

Well 4:11, I think the law caried state by state in regards to committment procedures. Here a 72 hour hold is only as a result of threatening suicide or to kill another. Mostly for sucide threats. Not at all for drug abuse. I agree, or hope, that if she were sober (and by sober I mean not just clean but psychologically sober too, not just looking for her next high) that she would be horrified. I don't know if it's PPD or anothe mental illness, that's the other tricky thing anout addiction- you never can tell when a person is on drugs because so many things could be caused by one or the other. If there is agression is it because ofthe substance or a mental illness, the depression, etc.?
I agree, her upbringing plays a part in it as well. It's behavior you often see in young mothers, teen mothers. No time for themselves when most sow their oats, so they have a certain amount of bitterness or entitlment as to what they should have had. And to an extent she can still have that. As hard as break ups are, if you keep it civil there is the (ideally) wonderful aspect of leaning on each other when you need a break. There is no shame is saying you need a break.
I love the Madonna comparison. Not only about settling down now with kids, but Madonna used to be hounded like she was. Madonna still has a successful career. She's split from her partner and handled that split with class- as did he.

You haven't heard her complain about him not visiting or spending time with his kids, either BEFORE Britney or AFTER! You need to choose a better role model for yourself honey! Britney is an example of what NOT to do and how NOT to behave in public or otherwise. Do you seriously believe otherwise? That somehow, it's OK to drive without a valid license, it's OK to hit someone's car and leave the scene, to secure your baby's carseat the wrong way, leave the top on your convertible down and not cover sensitive baby skin with some sort of protection, not obey a Judge's direct order in order to keep your kids, flash your crotch how many times now, invite a stranger into the bathroom with you? These are just the tip of the iceberg and ones that I have seen proof of and believe. The drug addiction is apparent and PROBABLY valid, but even if we give her the benefit of the doubt on that one. SHE NEEDS SOME SERIOUS HELP! I haven't heard anything about K-Fed EXCEPT your allegation that his only income is from Britney and again, that is just speculation, no proof in the pudding!

I truly do wish she gets help. I don't understand why her family has not had her committed, which you can do if someone is a threat to themselves or others. She clearly is. They will keep that person for 72 hours for observation during which time, hopefully enough drugs will clear her system and her head to recognize she needs help. I understand they tried an intervention which didn't work. That is the problem with addiction. Addicts do not recognize that the disease affects not only themselves, but the ones that love and care about them. I believe that if she were clean, she would be extremely horrified at her behavior. Such is the addicts life! They have to first acknowledge they have a problem. Those kids are young enough to "forget" what they have been through but this girl needs help and needs to pull it together fast before it's too late! I could go on and on because this is a little girl in a woman's body/life. She never grew up and still believes that she is the "pop idol". For inspiration, she should see that Madonna at one time was "off the wall", partying hard. But she is a mother now and leads a much simpler, home based life, writing children's books and spending quality time with her kids. These kids are being carted around by a drug-induced mother. I think she suffered from post-partum depression from having those kids too close together, then her divorce, and that sent her to drugs to numb the pain of realizing she obviously made a mistake in her choice of husband and many other areas of her life. She is a lost soul right now and hopefully she can get back on track, not in her career, but in her LIFE as a mother.

Shar obviously had bad judgement hooking up with you in the first place. But we all know that Shar was supposed to be your meal ticket too, until her t.v show got cancelled, and then she was out of a job. Then Britney came along, and you quickly quickly dumped Shar's broke bleep for the bigger catch. And like a leech you just won't let go! So pathetic! Get a job! I really do not care if either one boink 10 people a night, or smoke weed, or get wasted. It is a matter of affecting the kids, bottom line.
I truly hope she gets help, I think most do. It's not promising, but with each blow abd embarrassment I hope that it will be her bottom. Only when she sees she is at fault will she be able to be helped. She has no control which is why she allows it affect her parenting. That's the thing about addiction. With all these people making exzcuses for her and blaming others...scary.
