Britney Spears was involved in a minor traffic accident Saturday evening on a West Los Angeles freeway, according to California Highway Patrol.
The two-car accident occurred about 8:20 p.m. on the northbound 405 at the 101 freeway, CHP Officer Patrick Kimball confirmed to Usmagazine.com.
"Spears was driving a white Mercedes on the 101 Freeway, when she struck the rear of a Nissan that was in front of her," Officer Kimball said. "Britney's car collided into the rear of a Nissan, which in turn hit another car."
No injuries were reported. No tickets were given, he said.

BIG thing going around is..........american idol stars kristy lee cook and david archuletah have a THING going on. this has been talked about all over the place. weird because she's older than him but nothing would surprise me. all the david archuletah fans aren't happy about this ESPECIALLY the girls.
another thing going around is kristy lee cook NEVER sold her horse. this was a story used as a sympathy ploy so people would like her and keep her on the show. she has tons of horses *she lives on a ranch* and out of all the horses she sells hers? she has money by the way. her parents are NOT broke. kristy's whole family lives quite well. lets just say they're rich. cat got out of the bag that kristy prepares herself to be in the bottom 3 but she knows she'll be okay. she's quite smug. she knows her brother in-law has a lot of friends and they vote a lot. just some information for all your american idol lovers.

What is the big deal? People get into fender benders all the time. Everyone was okay, and the only scratch was on the cars, not actually on a human life. I like Britney and she seems to be doing very well. I wish she'd drive better (she's just minor compared to really bad drivers, and I'm talking about drivers with road rage, now they are bad drivers), but whatever happened was a mistake, hopefully she won't get into anymore minor accidents anytime soon.

12:21: There was no indication in the police report that she was drinking or talking on her cel phone. She was not given a citation. It is not appropriate to accuse people of engaging in a specific type of behavior if you do not have any evidence to support your statement. Not only do you not have any evidence but the information that is available contradicts your assumptions.

What makes you think she is not taking responsibility for her actions? What do you think she should do in this situation? How would you handle a fender bender? What do you think would be the appropriate consequences for you to face if you were in this situation?

Anonymous 9:59: Since when do people that get involved in a fender bender lose their right to drive? The police report indicates it was an accident. She was not given any citations which indicates she did not engage in any type of gross negligence. I hope if you are in an accident the people involved in your case (the other driver, police, judge etc.) will be more understanding and compasionate than you are with others involved in this situation.

A lot of people get in accidents. Thankfully most of us would not be judged by people that do not have any facts related to the incident.

Comment 1:22. You are very correct from a insurance perspective. The lack of citation means there was no criminal liability on Brits behalf. Which means this is just one of those things that happen. This is not a news story.

From a legal perspective, any time there is an accident where one car rear-ends another car, the car that runs into the other car is always at fault. Even if the car in front stops suddenly and unexpectedly, it's the responsibility of the drivers of vehicles behind them to leave enough room in between to stop or to safely avoid the car in front of them. Bottom line.
