I hope she gets all the help she needs! I am praying for her! I couldnt imagine being in her shoes right now, I am going through a custody battle myself and its so hard, dealing with an ex husband who just wants all your money and doesnt want you to see your children! I know how she feels in that aspect, but of course my life isnt out for the public to see either.
I hope she can find one person out there who truly cares for her and is a true friend that will help guide her down the right road. I just feel like she is being used by so many people who "claim" they are friends.
I just think she needs to get away and get her head together so she can live a great life with her children!
She can get better! and I feel like if she does get better and takes it seriously she can have a major come back in the music business! I hope and pray she does!!

It is really a very sad thing...as a mom I think of her kids who are losing out on a mom themselves. I wish someone could reach her and help her.

I can not believe some of the comments I have read you people writing. Do you guys not have a brain and realize what exactly is going on here? She is a human being, just like you and I, and she deserves to be better. She doesn't need you hyprocrital people writing nasty things about her. Think if this was one of your family members, and you were reading some of the things you guys have been putting about your loved one, how would that make you feel? Guys this is SAD not FUNNY. I totally agree she is a hot mess right now, no one can disagree with that. But guys, come on..whatever happened to compassion? i really think kevin should keep the kids and britney should go live with her mom to kentwood for a while with close evaluathon , after she gets all the help she can get at the hospital she shouldent get out until she is readu and naw she is far then ready her life is in danger and i really think she can harm her self if the let her out soon

You people in America make me sick. Here you are making jokes about someones mental health and your papparazzi is chasing this poor women constantly because you want to see her! Well, I am also a Britt fan. However, it's obvious she is sick. She needs help. She has dependancy issues as well as some mental problems. Lets face it, celebrity or not, her personal life has been crazy. She had two children back to back then she gets a divorce. Somthing like that could cause anyone to crack. I hope she gets the help that she needs, I really do.

I still think there are substance abuse issues here, as well as any mental problems. She never received treatment for her dependency (and there is plenty of evidence to show she had a problem) so I'm sure it is an ongoing struggle as the odds of her cleaning herself up are slim to none. Her actions are not those of a stable person. An unstable person cleaning themselves up? I would find that hard to believe.

It's possible she is abusing prescription drugs and took too many. That kind of OD would be treated as a suicide attempt and result in the hold she is in now. I'm pulling it out of my arse, but it makes sense with the police initially saying she was under the influence.

It's very possible she'll be out in 72. I'm sure they will focus more so on her aftercare plan than normal, with the attention coming. They can only hold her if she continues to be a threat. As someone else said, it's not uncommon for people to be released EARLY if they are not making threats anymore. Drive thru treatment. The fact remains though, that if she is no longer a threat, they can't force her to stay. So she still has to agree to treatment. Or her family has to go through legal channels to declare her incompetent. It's not easy, but it may have just gotten easier.

I'm tired of seeing and hearing about this mental midgets' obvious short-comings, obvious immaturity and obvious stupidity. She is going to go nuts in there unless they sedate her...she is going to want to get the hell out of that place and get some alcohol or drugs in her to numb her pain. She won't even be able to watch TV or anything because she is all over the news...poor thing. If I had was her, and had all of that money, I'de buy an island and retreat there for a while

Regardless if she gets out or not, the important thing is that those children will not be anywhere near her. Brit can continue along her self destructive path all she wants,not admitting that anything is wrong, but I'm glad Kfed and Kaplan are fighting to keep the kids away from her indefinately.

Know before you speak: In order for a person to be legally committed, they only need to prove that they are in danger of hurting themselves or someone else. I think locking herself with the child in a room threaten to kill herself it is enough reasons to keep her as long as they want. If a person is taking to the hospital in suspicion of suicide, the Doctors decides when you go home.

They had better keep her MUCH longer than 72 hours. They need to legally commit Britney to a mental institution. If she gets out even in the next few weeks, she will drive her car off a cliff.
