Britney Spears celebrated her big TV comeback Monday night with a dinner date with her bodyguard and a female friend in Beverly Hills.
Throughout her meal at Italian restaurant Dominick's, Spears, 26 — who did not drink — spoke in her British accent, a fellow diner tells Usmagazine.com.
"She looked so good, completely normal," the eyewitness adds. "She was smiling and laughing in the loud obnoxious Britney laugh."
The singer had a good reason to rejoice: Her cameo on CBS' Hot I Met Your Mother helped the show earn its highest ratings ever!
(Mother spiked to a series high 4.5 preliminary rating among adults 18-49, according to the Hollywood Reporter.)
Critics also praised her performance.
"She looked beautiful and had screen presence," Charna Halpern, artistic director of Chicago’s Improv Olympic Comedy Club, tells Us. "Even when she was behind the desk and they made her look kind of homely, she was adorable."

leave the poor lady alone. she has been through alot. it is not up to us to judge anybody. only god has the right to judge. it is not what is on the outside that counts, only what is on the inside. she has made mistakes lots of them. but people make mistakes all the time. nobody is perfect. and if she wasnt a star, then nobody would care. so why care what she does now? what she does with her life is her buisness nobody elses. is anything that she does affect anybody's life that doesn't even know her? so i say instead of critisizing britany and jamie lynn, we should be praying for them. god bless!!

Anon 10:33 - i agree completely. I'm not saying that she has Never spoke with an accent, I'm saying she didn't this night. The point is they shouldn't be reporting something that didn't happen, but I guess then the rags would be out of business, and we wouldn't be here blogging. She's does enough to herself, her image and the people around her, I just don't see why people need to take it one step further and try to make things up. She's obviously getting better, and people should be happy for that, not b/c i'm a fan, but it should be human to do so.

Britney is NOT fat by any stretch. Maybe less toned, but she probably doesn't workout as much, if ever. But I do agree about her skin, it doesn't look good. I wonder what's going on with that?

Michelle, whether or not Britney spoke in an accent that particular evening is irrelevant. There is plenty of footage out there of her doing it repeatedly, on many other occasions. And I think it's weird.

Alexis, She may not be fat compared to the average mother, but she certainly IS fat compared to her old self back in her heyday. Look at her thighs and her stomache.... they are WIDE!! Her face is also disgustingly oily. She is still a mess. Yuck.

Some of you people disgust me! Yeah she's done some screwed up crap and she's paying for it dearly! She lost her kids, and her body, but that happens for ALL mothers! Apparently she can't do anything right for you people, she's either too fat, too this or too that for you! Honestly, she looks GORGEOUS after 2 children (mind you, it was plastic surgery, but still). Her body is most certainly not "fat."
No wonder she's screwed up in the head right now, with people like some of you just wanting more and more from her. You're thrilled when you find SOMETHING you don't like. So my question for those of you calling her "fat" are you like 85lbs or something? How can you call a figure like her current one "fat"?! Get over yourselves. Don't look at her if you don't like her!

You don't have to believe me if you don't want, I could care less, just simply putting out there what I saw. And Lale, no offense taken, but the last I checked this was a blog, not a grammar course, so if my grammar/punctuation and/or spelling determines if I am "credible" or not, than so be it. I find the humor in so manner people playing tug-of-war over whether speaking with an accent is crazy or not, and taking stabs at each other for it if they do it themselves, when I happen to see it and know it didn't happen. If it's impossible that someone could see her and know that, and be on here blogging, then that doesn't say much about anyone on here, now does it. I don't normally blog, so I'm sure that if in a strange circumstance it were to happen again, I'm sure you won't be hearing from me. but have a great night anyway. :)

No offense, Michelle, but I don't tend to believe people who don't have a basic understanding of grammar/spelling and punctuation. Especially the ones who make themselves LOL at things that don't seem particularly funny. I'd be more inclined to believe that our little Brit is still on the crazy train, speaking in her British accent. Even if she wasn't, though, let's not forget that she isn't all better now.

oh my people. just because a mag says she did, doesn't mean she is speaking w/a British accent. I guess no one read my earlier post. Now I know why I don't post on these sites, except for this exception only b/c i know the article is not entirely true. She was NOT speaking in a British accent - part of the problem with being judgemental is your basing your opinions on points of "fact", which believe it or not, are sometimes Not True. so there is no argument on this issue, since it's false reporting LOL get a grip, people.

I'm not a hater, but if she was speaking in the British accent, she's obviously not normal. Oh, that and all the meds she has to be on. While I acknowledge that she's a kick-butt entertainer, let's be honest- her "acting" and "singing" skills leave much to be desired. Hopefully she'll put her energy where it needs to really be: in cleaning up her act and developing better mom skills.

You are so right! She is a 12 year old child trapped in a grown woman's body.
I don't know anybody that fakes an accent FOR THAT LONG A TIME PERIOD FOR FUN. This grown woman has severe emotional problems. Once her father's conservatorship is over, US weekly will officially be back in business again, and won't need Oprah's dog dying to be news, anymore.

Thank Goodness, The Old Britney is Back!!! After Watching her television comeback on How I met your Mother last night, I rejoiced, and was relieved to see the Britney Spears we all loved in the beginning. Spears delivered a comic, sweet timing of comedy performance. Thank god, Britney is Back, The Old Britney is Back!!!
