FACEBOOKI am trying to reach brittany. I too suffer from mental illness and know how hard it is. Sometimes it helps to talk to someone who can understand your secret world. All I am trying to do is find brittany just to say I will be her friend and we could show the world how mental illness can devistate your life and take everything from you. I know she is basically the most famous person in the world but I want to try to reach out and maybe by some chance I can somehow get to talk to her. I have no other intentions than offering my friendship and understanding hoping I could find a friend that understands too. People that are not informed of mental illness can never understand the aloneness and scary dark places it can take you. It is real and there is no cure, I just am setting out to try to find others who experience the agony of this disease and maybe we could at least help each other.

For the second time in a less than a month, police involuntary committed Britney Spears early Thursday morning, hours after blogs and media outlets began reporting that her psychiatrist determined she was a danger to herself and others.
At approximately 1 a.m., dozens of Los Angeles Police officers along with an ambulance arrived at Spears' home in the Summit Circle gated community in the hills above Beverly Hills. Less than 20 minutes later, she was transported to UCLA Medical Center.
Citing unidentified authorities, The Los Angeles Times said Spears was placed on a "mental evaluation hold."
The ambulance was seen pulling out of the side entrance of Spears' gated Summit community at 1:20 a.m. Her mother, Lynne Spears, was seen riding in an SUV as part of the police escort caravan.
Her father, Jamie, and her brother, Bryan, arrived at the hospital minutes after Britney was brought in. Sam Lutfi and Alli Sims also were seen entering.
Lutfi recently told Barbara Walters that Spears — whose behavior has become increasingly erratic — suffers from "mental issues which are treatable" and "that she has been to a psychiatrist."
On January 3, Spears was taken to L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after a three-hour stand-off with authorities, which began when she refused to hand over her two sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston, to her ex Kevin Federline as required by their custody decree. Spears was released less than 48 hours later.

Brittany's are not solved because we so often do not stop to have that quiet time of peace and tranquility with the Higher Power who I wish to call Jesus Christ. Day in and day out we can be bombarded with the hustle and bustle of this life, blessed with our different measures of fortune and fame, but never stop to seriously meditate nor contemplate about his will for our life in this day and time nor the severity of the Almighty if we don't walk that
straight and narrow way!
Im sorry but brittany needs major help im glad her parents decided to actually do something and put her on lockdown I hope that her sister doesnt end up like her.
This is what you fans don't get. SHE WILL NOT MAKE A COMEBACK OF THE CENTURY. A huge part of Britney's problem is THE BUSINESS. Britney has been performing for 2 decades. Thats 20 years of glaring lights, rehearsals, radio plugs, interviews, performances, touring, photoshoots. Try that lifestyle for 1 year and i doubt very seriously if any of you would be able to hang past a month.
Britney never had the life you consider dull and boring. She really needs to come out of the glass house so she can heal--the glass house being the public eye, the media, the paparazzi and the like.
If we all would just "not care" for just a year or so and stop making the media, news-outlets, and paparazzi millions of dollars and millions of ratings shares, maybe just maybe Britney can finally have what we all take for granted--a dull boring existence.
Chicago hot mom, you need to get a F*CKING life and stop random comments about other people like that. Lemmi make a wild guess, you've never left Chicago ever. Open up your mind to accept other people, races, religions, countries and i'm sure you'd learn a lot.
I really hope they keep her longer than they did last time. She could make the comeback of the century if she would cooperate with treatment. Hope this has a happy ending.

Everyone needs to back off this poor girl and leave her alone. What if YOU gave up everything for a loser like k.fed and poured your soul into it, only to be cheated on and mistreated and left at home with two kids while he is out partying and spending her money and hanging out with strippers. She lost everything because he drained it all out of her. She was in love with him and we all know that love and heartache can make you do some crazy things. She had two children right after one another, that alone can screw up your hormones and set up the environment for an already pre-existing condition like, bi-polar, depression, or post partum depression. She's going through a divorce and losing her kids. She's caught up in the emotions and going through a roller coaster of feelings, not to mention, she can't grieve in privacy, so she's grieving the only way she knows how.... with camera's following her every move. Ever read the life stories of famous actresses who went down the same road or a close path? Without the screen, without the crowds? Life is not worth living. Watch American Experience running right now on PBS about "America's Sweetheart". Had a huge intellect, played 12 year olds on the screen when she was almost 30. by 40 washed up and in seclusion for the rest of her life. Had visitors to her home and only talked to them on the phone so they wouldn't see her age.

Mother, pregnant sister, father, boyfriends, husbands, pals, fans... all want to watch train wrecks in the making. She can't leave it. It's the only persona she has.
if just one of those people who purport to love her wanted to help her? they would hold up a mirror and show her she is just a young woman with a lot of money whose career appears to be over and help her make a life outside of the fantasy.
From Mouseketeer to Meltdown those who guide her and help her stay in the cloud? Forgot there was a little girl inside with dreams.

Call me a softy but I really feel sorry for this girl. Seems like she's been used by almost every person who's come into her life (including her family) and left to fend for herself when the going got rough. Her mom is a disgrace and seems to be latching on to the younger, more profitable Spears now. As a mom, I knew something wasn't quite right with this woman when she allowed her 16 year old daughter to pose looking less than wholesome on the cover of Rolling Stone. Guess she was thinking that she should do whatever it took to further her daughter's career...after all she had to protect her investment. (disgusting!) I wish Brit the best and hope she finds someone that helps guide her back to reality and out of the craziness that surrounds her.

I see what you're saying, but I think the point Claire was making is that it is very hard to find the proper (combination of) medicine. Diagnosing and treating mental illness is very hard to do, I know that much.

Claire PhD, you are a retard....if you are not taking any meds you are getting NO relief at all. If you take meds then your brain chemistry will regulate and then you have a chance to begin looking at your life in a different perspective. From there, the counseling is what works. She would learn new coping strategies, analyze what is right/wrong, and create a moral sheet for yourself....such as morals and ethics that you are going to adopt...(one that you can change and adjust as you learn more things..)
But a person cannot do those things unless they are stabilized chemically. Soo...it looks like you need to find the right medicine for yourself and then you will understand how the medicines work for you.
Think of this....have you ever tried to get a kid with ADHD to understand the rules of a sport? It is very hard because they cannot pay attention very well. But with medication, their brain is slowed down and they are able to concentrate/pay attention/learn something! Then, from there is where the positive outcomes will begin such as a new knowledge of a sport instead the stigma of being a crazy wild kid that you can't even hold a conversation with.

For once, I wish the media would get a clue and stop misinforming the public about mental illness. The idea that treating it is just a matter of staying on meds is erroneous. Although meds help some, some of the time, they do not cure people at all. Many get partial or no relief. I am not qualified to diagnose her, but she may have developed manic depression after childbirth. That is what happened to me, 25 years ago. In spite of psychiatric care and meds life has been rocky and I reired disabled at 55.
Mental illness scares people and many even deny its existance. Correct, informative media coverage would be good.

Oh..I just realised something! Most of the people posting on here have never been to the L.A. area. Britney doesn't live in Hollywood. L.A. is huge and there are many areas of it. People are so sick to wish her dead. We need to be more positive and supportive. Everyone has recieved a large chunk of money and spent it foolishly before. We would all agree that money gives you an invincible feeling....(until its gone).......and we need to stop holding it against her that she has money. I give her credit for taking a stand against her own family and ending financial support to them. Doesn't this explain why the mom was totally open to selling Jamie Lynn's pregnancy news to a magazine for 1 million? Otherwise she was gonna have to get a real job like Britney's dad did...LOL!!!
Also, she blocked out her family for awhile...kinda smart because they were sucking her dry also and her mom's advice probably centered around an end result of a possibility of more money toward her own pocket.
So, obviously Britney's gut instinct is telling her some smart things....she just needs to get more sure in her own decisions, and stop letting everyone else try to run her life!
