BIO

Brett Asa “Ace” Young was born in 1980 in Denver, Colo. The fifth and youngest son of retired minor-league baseball player Jay Young, Ace has been singing since the age of nine.

The singer/songwriter got his start in the public eye after appearing on the fifth season of American Idol in 2005, finishing in seventh place. Since his Idol run, Young has been working on his self-titled debut album, slated for release in July 2008. Young appeared on MTV’s Total Request Live to perform an original song, "Don’t Go", which will be included on the album.

Idol pal Chris Daughtry will also lend a hand on the album to thank Young for his help co-penning a portion of the Daughtry hit "It's Not Over." The Idol favorite is also an active philanthropist, lending his time and talents to Denver Children’s Hospital, raising funds with his Highrollers With Heart charity to open a hospitality suite at the facility.

Young proposed to Allison Fischer, his costar on Broadway's Grease, in June 2009.
