Beyonce Knowles, once the main force of the powerhouse Destiny's Child trio, has become an entertainment entity in her own right. After a highly successful and record-breaking stint as the lead singer of Destiny's Child, the group split in 2003 after releasing a final album and a greatest hits collection.
Later that same year Knowles's solo career began with her debut album Dangerously in Love. The album has since sold over eleven million copies worldwide and earned Knowles five Grammy awards. She has also tried her hand at acting, with roles in films like MTV's Carmen: A Hip Hopera and later with Austin Powers in Goldmember, The Fighting Temptations, and The Pink Panther. Knowles was recognized in late 2006 with Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress for her role as Deena in the critically-acclaimed 2006 flick Dreamgirls.
In 2008, the singer tied the knot with long-time love Jay-Z. They welcomed daughter Ivy Blue in January 2012.
