Candice Accola

Born May 13, 1987, in Houston, Texas, Candice Accola is an actress best known for her starring role as Caroline Forbes on The CW’s supernatural smash, The Vampire Diaries.

Raised in Edgewood, Florida, Accola began her career as a singer. In 2006, she dropped her indie debut, It’s Always the Innocent Ones. Two years later, she hit the road as a backup singer for Miley Cyrus‘ Best of Both Worlds tour.

Accola soon began appearing on TV in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Supernatural and Greek. She joined The Vampire Diaries in 2009 and later began dating her costar, Zach Roerig; the actors split up in May 2012.

The actress got engaged to The Fray’s Joe King during a trip to Italy in May 2013. After tying the knot in October 2014, the duo welcomed daughters Florence (born January 2016) and Josephine (born December 2020). In April 2022, Accola filed for divorce from King, citing irreconcilable differences.
