Born on May 5, 1989, Chris Brown began his life as a dancer, moving and shaking since the age of two. He discovered his talent for music at age 11 and was tracked down two years later at his father's gas station by a local production team. He landed a deal with Jive Records in 2004 and released his self-titled debut album in November 2005.
In 2007, Brown recorded a second album, Exclusive, to rave reviews; his hit single "Kiss Kiss" reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In January of the same year Brown made his debut on the big screen, appearing in the dance movie Stomp the Yard, following up his debut with a role in This Christmas, as well as a bit part on The O.C..
His high profile romance with Rihanna took a sharp turn in 2009 when he was charged and arrested for physically assaulting the pop star. In June 2009, Brown pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault against Rihanna. He received five years probation and will spend 180 days doing community labor in Virginia.
