About

Donald Trump is a businessman and media personality who served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021. Trump is the chairman and CEO of the Trump Organization, which was founded in 1927.

Trump married Ivana Trump in 1977, and the couple had three children together: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. The couple divorced after his affair with Marla Maples, whom he married the following year. He and Maples had one child, Tiffany, before divorcing in 1999.

Donald began hosting NBC’s The Apprentice in 2004, a reality competition in which contestants vied for a coveted position in his company. He developed his infamous catchphrase “You’re fired!” on the show, which he hosted for 14 seasons until 2015.

In 2005, Donald married model Melania Trump. They welcomed a son named Barron the following year.

During the 2016 U.S. presidential election season, Donald was constantly in the spotlight for his lack of political knowledge and incendiary remarks about immigration, minorities, women and more. He campaigned against Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and adopted the slogan “Make America Great Again.” Despite Clinton’s popular vote victory, Donald won the presidency with 304 electoral college votes.

He was impeached twice during his one term in office, first in 2019 on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. At the time, he was not forced to leave office after being acquitted by the Senate.

His second impeachment came after he lost his bid for reelection in 2020, claiming voter fraud was the reason President Joe Biden won despite having no evidence. His supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol building on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to prevent Congress from formalizing Biden’s victory. Trump was impeached for incitement of insurrection later that month but was not convicted.

Despite being banned from Twitter (now X) in 2021 for inciting violence in the wake of the January 6 attacks, his account was reinstated in 2022 after Elon Musk purchased the social media platform.

In November 2022, Trump announced his plan to run for president as the Republican nominee in 2024 despite his lengthy list of indictments on both federal and state charges.
