Ellen Philpotts-Page was born in 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Academy Award-nominated actress grew up a tomboy, spending her time climbing trees and playing with action figures.
Although her personality never fit the stereotype of an aspiring actress, she is now considered to be among the most promising stars under 30.
After appearing in several small Canadian films and television series, Page received critical acclaim for her endearing performance as a pregnant teen in the hit 2007 film Juno. She acted alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Dennis Quaid in the 2008 comedic drama, Smart People.
Although there are rumors that the young talent is gay, she has never confirmed these reports, and even poked fun at these rumors when she hosted Saturday Night Live in 2008.
