After failing to win Jillian Harris' heart during the fifth season of The Bachelorette, Jake Pavelka searched for love during the 14th season of ABC's The Bachelor.
Born on January 27, 1978, the Texas native began taking flying lessons when he was just 12 years old. As a commercial pilot, Pavelka began competing for Harris' affection in 2009. Pavelka was voted off by the Bachelorette and episodes later made a mysterious return, earning his way back into Harris' heart. Despite his popularity with fans, she sent him home yet again, ultimately choosing software consultant Ed Swiderski instead.
Undeterred, Pavelka continued his quest to find someone to share his life with when The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love premiered in Jan. 2010. After narrowing down the group of women, viewers were shocked when contestant Rozlyn Papa was asked to leave the show for her alleged physical relationship with one of the show's crew members. "I didn't come on The Bachelor to be the center of attention," Pavelka said. "I went on there to find love, and unfortunately, Rozlyn found love elsewhere."
Pavelka, who later competed on the 10th season of Dancing With the Stars, proposed to bad girl Vienna Girardi during The Bachelor season finale. The couple's romance crumbled in June 2010 when Girardi dumped her boyfriend of seven months over the phone.
The reality star's next gig will be a guest starring role on Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, where he will appear as a guy looking for love during a reality TV competition.
