Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx was born Eric Marlon Bishop in Texas in 1967. Best known for his Oscar-winning performance as Ray Charles, Foxx headlined the WB hit The Jaime Foxx Show prior to his film successes.

In 2004, Foxx became the first African-American to be nominated for two Academy Awards in the same year: best supporting actor for Collateral and best actor for Ray, which he won.

Over the years, he has remained a constant hit at the box office with memorable roles in 2012’s Django Unchained, 2017’s Baby Driver, 2020’s Soul and 2022’s Day Shift. In 2021, Foxx teamed up with his eldest daughter, Corinne, to play Brian Dixon on Netflix’s Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, which was inspired by her childhood diary.

Foxx is also talented off screen: his second album, Unpredictable, reached the top of the Billboard album chart.

The Just Mercy star welcomed daughter Corinne in February 1994 with ex-girlfriend Connie Kline. He became a father once again in October 2008 when his and ex Kristin Grannis’ daughter, Anelise, was born.

Us broke the news in March 2015 that Katie Holmes and Foxx were in a relationship after secretly dating for two years. The pair called it quits in 2019 after six years together.

In April 2023, the Beat Shazam cohost was hospitalized in Atlanta after suffering an undisclosed medical emergency. Foxx’s eldest daughter confirmed in May 2023 that he was out of the hospital and safe at home.
