Mesnick, a Cleveland native, is best known as the runner-up on Season 4 of ABC’s reality dating spin-off, The Bachelorette, and appears as The Bachelor on 2009’s airing of the original series.
During the finale of The Bachelorette, leading lady DeAnna Pappas famously turned him down for Jesse Csincsak, whom she become engaged to and later split from.
In the spring of 2009, Mesnick appeared as ABC's Bachelor and caused controversy after choosing Melissa Rycroft only to dump her during the taping of the After the Rose special. He is currently engaged to second-place finisher Molly Malaney. The couple swapped vows in front of ABC TV cameras in a two-hour wedding special in March 2010.
Outside of his reality TV appearances, Mesnick works as an account executive in Seattle. He has a son, Ty, born in 2005 from a previous marriage. In 2013, Mesnick and Malaney welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Riley.
