Jessica “Jessie J” Ellen Cornish

Known professionally as Jessie J, the British singer and songwriter was born in March 1988. She crossed over onto U.S. charts with the release of her 2011 album, Who You Are.

The performer has been hitting stages since the age of 11, when she was cast in the West End musical Whistle Down the Wind. After studying at the BRIT school, she found her calling as a songwriter, opening for Cyndi Lauper’s Bring Ya to the Brink tour in 2008.

She has also penned lyrics for artists such as Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus, including the latter’s 2009 hit “Party in the U.S.A.”

In 2011, she rose to international fame with the release of her aforementioned debut album, Who You Are, which included the hits “Price Tag” and “Domino.”

Four years later, Jessie J was nominated for a Grammy for her group performance of “Bang Bang” with Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea from her third studio album, Sweet Talker. She released her fourth album, R.O.S.E., in May 2018.

The songstress became the first European winner of Chinese singing competition Singer 2018 in January of that year.

In October 2018, the musician was revealed to be dating actor Channing Tatum, who separated from his wife of nearly nine years, Jenna Dewan, in April 2018.
