This self-proclaimed "D-lister" is a comedian and television personality best known for her stand-up specials and her Bravo reality series My Life on the D List, which since its debut in 2005 has won two Emmy awards. Born in Oak Park, Ill., in 1960, Griffin got her start in stand-up performing with a comedy troupe in Los Angeles in the early '80s. Her first break came when she was cast in a supporting role on the sitcom Suddenly Susan in 1996 opposite Brooke Shields, which was followed by several small roles on television and film.
Griffin became known for her self-deprecating humor and her knack for being modest about her place in Hollywood. Unfortunately, her "loose canon" type of humor got her banned from numerous daytime talk shows. She also angered the Catholic League in 2006 when she uttered the infamous quip, "Suck it, Jesus!" during her Emmy acceptance speech.
After splitting from husband Matt Moline in 2006, Griffin was briefly linked to Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. The couple parted ways in 2008.
